Alexander Grace Law shutting down - L&C appointed conveyancer - mid remortgage!

Received this this morning:

I've literally just signed and sent my deed off to them, so this is quite a shock. Most of the questions in my head are for AGL when I can phone them tomorrow, but I guess I'll be passing the case to Amity, hoping no documents go missing and that the commission from L&C/lender still covers the conveyancing work.
Anyone had any contact with AGL today?

Have you sent them any cash yet? How far off is your earliest remortgage completion date?0

This happened in one of my cases a few years back.
Another firm took over everything - there was a bit of a hold up in the middle where we lost maybe a week - but surprisingly everything went quite smoothly.
I was quite stressed as I was a new broker at the time and I had never come across it before. I can imagine your stress levels, but it was not as I expected.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. spoke to them just now. doesn't seem like I have much to worry about. Have OKd my case move to Amily Law.0

I am also in the same boat. Has your case now been moved to Amity Law? I have not heard anything. Contacted Amity Law and they say that someone will contact me but no one ever does so I don't know where I stand0

that's a little worrying. I sent the form of authority to AGL on the 28th June but have yet to hear from Amity. L&C have also been in contact to tell me AGL are closing and they could have reappointed someone.
Hopefully Amity are just sorting themselves out and will be ready to go soon.0
