ah good point then that is why I think she has been migrated to the 2008 scheme. She started nursing in 19990

Interesting looks like she'll be in the 2015 scheme for contributions since the McCloud remedy came into force so that makes things more simple in terms of working out what this lease will cost on pension terms.
Useful flow diagram and reads as though she will be given a choice at retirement (10+ years) between legacy scheme and current scheme or take all pension on current scheme.

So going back to the Lease analysis it's as Moonwolf describes in the 1/54 analysis. I'll think on it some more but based on those numbers and assuming leasing a car for say 300-350 (c£100 per annum pension reduction) per month the impact is not going to that "much" to worry about, especially as it's making at least a £400-500 monthly cost saving today on the alternative, which woud be buying a diesel ex demo type car with cash and a loan and including the fuel/maintenace costs as these are included in the rental payment with the NHS fleet option, well fuel isn't but everything else inc tyres is.
