Waiting Game!!

Following on from my post a few weeks ago where I received such valuable information and advice, I have just had the initial phone call with L&G to see if we would be able to get a fixed rate mortgage deal. We are currently paying 7.5% interest with the One Account, due to go up to 7.75% in August and likely to increase again after this following the BoE rate increase last week. I am so nervous! I really, really hope someone will offer us a deal - feeling pretty negative about the whole thing tbh as worried we won't pass affordability. It's an anxious wait.......

Quick query - does anyone know how long it normally takes for L&G to do affordability checks? Many thanks

I would go a small broker, l&c dont seem to like none vanillaDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.1

Why have you waited weeks to action anything? Worried about a 'no'? You will never get a 'yes' until you ask for one.I am a Mortgage Broker

We wanted to be in a position whereby our affordability is as good as possible so our bank statements are in the best shape! I really regret waiting though as interest rates have since risen further but fingers crossed we can secure somethingamnblog said:Why have you waited weeks to action anything? Worried about a 'no'? Nothing from them in over 24 hours!! I have emailed again but no reply. Have decided to go with a different broker following advice - have had the initial consultation and submitted bank statements/payslips etc. They are looking into options for us this afternoon and hope to have news by the end of the day.kingstreet said:It should take about twenty minutes.
