Nationwide Mortgage Timescales

We are first time buyers who are very nervous about our mortgage offer. Our broker put our application in for us yesterday so we would be interested to know roughly how long timescales can be until you get your mortgage offer

Good luck, nationwide were very good for me, application to offer too just over 2 weeks for me but that was mainly due to issues with nationwides automated texts not being sent before the valuation and after valuation. They are quite quick though!1

@summerb64 thats good to know thank you. Did you apply yourself or through a broker? We are unsure if we will get text alerts or not, we received a text to say our application has been received yesterday morning. How long after applying did it take for the valuation to be done?0

Were you a ftb also?0

I applied through a broker, I got the text to say application received. Then it took 8 days for the valuation to take place, didn’t get the text to say valuation instructed, just got a phone call from nationwide to book in the survey for the following week. Then 2 days after valuation it was approved and mortgage issued same day0

And yes I was a FTB0

Nationwide were very quick with our application earlier this month (first time buyers, no outstanding credit, 3.9x lend amount, standard property). We only needed to supply our payslips and we applied direct with no broker or advice.
DiP and Application on the 7th June, supplied most recent payslips, got application received text.
Hard checks on CreditKarma the day after.
9th June valuation booked, got valuation booked text & Hard checks on Clearscore.
19th June, got valuation received text then got mortgage offer text immediately after.0 -

Thanks for all the info, hopefully ours is as quick. We are buying a new build which is ready to go, the develops want everything sorted within 6 weeks so hoping its smooth sailing. Did you not need to provide bank statements?0 -
I'm getting so anxious waiting for Nationwide for a month now. Took them 3 weeks post full application to arrange a valuation, which happened a week ago and still heard nothing. No broker as going direct as it's a manual port. Our contact at Nationwide is very lovely and responsive but doesn't seem to know what's going on herself as she keeps saying she is chasing the mortgage centre but they don't seem to give her answers. Has anyone else experienced this sort of delay? Is there anything I can do to get some answers other than keep pestering our mortgage contact or is there a way to bypass and call someone directly at the nationwide mortgage centre for an update. There is nothing unusual about our circumstances and should be a straightforward one so really weird how long it's taking .0

Are you able to call the mortgage Customer service and see what they can do? Unfortunately, we are going through a broker so unsure who you have to call. Our valuation is taking place tomorrow, it has taken a week and half to get booked in and we are with a broker. Do you know if your affordability has passed or have they asked for extra documents?mashmash90 said:I'm getting so anxious waiting for Nationwide for a month now.
