Hi.
I am wondering once you have a property with a mortgage what you have to do before you can let someone live together? Do you need to inform lender at all?
Could someone please explain how it works in a mortgaged property?
TIA

are you referring to 'tenants' as in you will not be living in the property but will be renting it out and they will have a lease and be paying you rent? or referring to a partner living with you?0

I refer to people who will be living with me. I mean my partner (not married) and her mother.Caz3121 said:are you referring to 'tenants' as in you will not be living in the property but will be renting it out and they will have a lease and be paying you rent? or referring to a partner living with you?

If you're buying a property or remortgaging (changing banks) then some banks need 17+ occupiers not on the mortgage to sign a consent.Koksmanareikals said:

If you've already got the mortgage, there's nothing to do, your partner could move in, your parents could move in, your partner's parents could move in, your siblings could move in, no need to tell the bank or get their permission as long as the property continues to be your main home.0
