Lidl Plus app hopelessly over-complicated

I've had the Lidl Plus app now for, what, 6 months... and I still can't get used to it.
Is it just me or do others also find this thing unnecessarily complex, what with the need to 'activate' coupons and all kinds of other trivial overthinking? In my local store, the internet is continually dropping and this, on top of the staff themselves seemingly not knowing what offers apply where, is making me tear my hair out.
It's getting to the stage where I wish I'd never downloaded the thing. It's almost like they're deliberately inviting you NOT to take up the offers they're allegedly making, or miss out on them. What with that and the fact that they can't credit past receipts to your account if the internet wasn't working at the time of checking out....
I don't think the matter can be put down entirely to my advancing years!

With regards to what items are included for any particular coupon, if you click on the actual coupon in the app, there's more information there:
If you then click on 'items included' it will tell you exactly what the coupon will work with.
The internet issue is slightly more annoying. I use my mobile data as none of my local Lidl's offer WiFi. A way around this is to activate the coupons before you get there and to take a screenshot of the Lidl Plus Card (so click onto the card and then screenshot it). This works fine for scanning etc.
There has been, in my experience, a single occasion whereby the store itself has been unable to provide the connection for their side of things.
However, if it's making you tear your hair out then maybe it's time to uninstall the app?1 -
I find the Lidl app simple and rewarding. If i had a paper voucher I can choose when I redeem it: same with the app - surely no problem?0

I quite like the Lidl app - for the few things I use it for. The requirement to activate coupons is annoying and seems pretty pointless. Even an "Activate All" button would be an improvement.
I have an app called StoCard where I keep electronic versions of loyalty cards, including the Lidl QR code. That means I don't need working data service in order to use the Lidl App (which seems to be an issue inside quite a few stores).
I've also been enjoying the Bakery Spin-of-Surprises, and that mechanism (always a winner) is a better mechanism for me than the usual ~60% losing spins.1 -
I sometimes get vouchers that 'clash' and would make them of lesser value to me, so being able to switch the coupons on and/or off works well for me.Cornucopia said:I quite like the Lidl app - for the few things I use it for. I like the digital receipts.I find Sainsburys more annoying as you then realise you are in sainsbury but need the nectar card and the link from sains app to nectar app never seems to let me open my card to scan anything….working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

i find asda rewards so complicated (and prices so high without it) I hardly shop there now, lidl plus I look at the coupons but very rarely (once every few months) find anything I would actually visit the store specially for. I normally shop at Aldi and Tesco.

I very rarely go to Lidl now but shop in Asda as I save a fortune compared to Tesco now on my weekly shop. I’ve cashed in over £50 and 3 lots over £20 from Asda rewards so far, it’s by far the best reward scheme. Only used a Lidl coupon once as it’s never anything I would buy usually.Clowance said:i find asda rewards so complicated (and prices so high without it) I hardly shop there now, lidl plus I look at the coupons but very rarely (once every few months) find anything I would actually visit the store specially for. Scan your card into Google wallet. That's how I use the wife's cardnewlywed said:I like the digital receipts.I find Sainsburys more annoying as you then realise you are in sainsbury but need the nectar card and the link from sains app to nectar app never seems to let me open my card to scan anything….1 -
I have 2 at the moment. Free bakery item for the +£50 spend and a free pain au chocolat from the spin to win, can't have both active.olgadapolga said:

Just use one after the other, you can deactivate one voucher, use one voucher then active the other, you don't need to buy anything else to get the free items
