  • I've stopped shopping in Morrisons in December 2017. They've never had customer support then.

Update. Since my OP post at the top of this thread, I have stopped using Morrisons UNTIL TODAY. Thinking maybe things might have improved. As email saying order on its way was late, I attempted to phone them. The waiting time in queue was estimated at 53 minutes!!! In likelihood, it would have been longer. The order did arrive, however, 25 minutes outside delivery slot.

Morrisons More card is certainly a joke if you do not have a suitable smartphone. It took me over two months to get a card after repeated attempts and even when it arrived it had to be "activated". To activate it apparently requires about an hour on the phone.
It really does seem that large British companies are competing to see who can be the most incompetent.
  • Morrison’s customer service is appalling. The worst I have ever known. They have now stopped allowing retrospective points being added to your card. I was told only head office can do this, thought there may be a way on their website- there isn’t. Emailed to ask how to do it. 6 weeks later bluntly told it can’t be done! Also found that if you are not quick enough, the self checkout times out before you have chance to scan your card.
We’re not talking about a lot of money here, but it does smack of greed and shockingly poor customer service. I now refuse to shop at Morrison’s.

For the benefit of others that are still shopping at Morrisons, did you know that you can scan the card FIRST and make sure you get it on record? I've been doing this for years (and at the regular tills, handing over the card before the shop goes through) so that it doesn't get forgotten. I too had experiences at Somerfield, then Co-Op, where the card would get "forgotten" (as in checkout op. pressed "DONE" to end the transaction without asking, and when I offered the card said "Sorry, too late!" :(
