Morning - thanks for starting us off nmlc. It's a very bright start to the day, here's hoping it turns out well. Yesterday was decidedly cool. I went to the bank and post office but didn't go to the exercise class, I felt a little what we Scots call 'wabbit' - a bit under the weather. However, I am going today. My cleaner is coming so I'll do a bit of table-clutter clearing. I like to have various things within reach even though they then annoy me because I dislike surfaces being covered with stuff. 😀 Can't even pleased myself anymore. My fat lip is healing, seems that skin was injured by the clamp thing that dentists use. I've been dabbing it with abensol which has helped. My deterring flies experiment has been so successful, wish I'd know about years ago. Because the other end of my building is a farm there's always large numbers of flies around. I've spent so much time sweeping up dead ones each morning - mind you it's because I really love having my front door open as much as possible. Love that more than hate the flies! I'm going to try lavender oil soon as the smell of eucalyptus is rather overpowering even though it's diluted. I hope that lavender doesn't attract bees as I can't reach my front window to rescue them.I hope that everyone is enjoying summer. Happy Thursday to all.10

Morning All
Running late this morning - too many social engagements!
Lovely day out yesterday with the children, great place and the children were really well behaved. Bonus was a beautiful day, a couple of threatening showers early on then brilliant sunshine all day but not too hot.
Nice retirement 'do' last night but the food was mediocre. Went to see the P7s all dressed up for their party - lovely they looked too, most of the boys wore suits with waistcoats - one had shorts with his and he looked fab.
Lots to do today so must rush. Hugs to all. Take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's a nice and sunny start here, fingers crossed it stays that way.
I had a lovely day out with DF yesterday and the weather was kind to us. None of the promised showers and the sun shone. I fell by the wayside as regards buying books sadly! I have been so good lately with my determination to get my stocks down before buying more but two I couldn't resist found their way into my hands! Naughty books! Other than that my only other purchases were litter tray liners and a bag of wine gums for the bus ride back!
No plans for today other than a kitchen and bathroom clean. If the sun keeps shining I might be found outside reading later.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Belated anniversary wishes for the IZZIES, I seemed to miss your news yesterday! Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all, I spent most of the day in the garden passing tools to Mr Fix It and then clearing the ground for the fence and a new post, I still don't know if it's deep enough, it's quite deceptive as the garden is on a slope so we'll see when they go up. I stupidly decided to go up the side of our big shed with a short sleeved top on to cut back the brambles coming from next door, and got a big deep scratch down my forearm, lesson learned. It's a bit of a squeeze and you have to back out which is not a good look, juggernaut reversing beep, beep 😂.
I cleared a ton of hazelnut shells from there too as the squirrel likes to sit on the fence post there and have his snack, then drop his empties around. Today I'm back on painting duty as the new post and it's older siblings need new coats 😁.
Have a good day all, take care and stay well.

Morning all
Lovely bright day here again we have been so lucky with the weather this summer, I bought a 1 tog duvet from Dunelm and put it on last night - what a difference was lovely and cool all night.
Day off for me and I have nothing planned which is what I love 😃 will get the dogs out for a walk and have a quick tidy through then the day is mine ! Think I might potter in the garden for a while.
Dinner tonight will be some left over spag bol which I had previously frozen so just need to cook the pasta for the others later.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all looks like another warm one here so i shall sit in the new garden and enjoy after i have had a quick tidy and bill paying on the internet. I need to sort DH driving licence out for the van rental on Monday and a letter with our address on not sure what as everything is done online now but i will give it a go.
Nan I hope your niece is progressing
Gers I will take your advice on the fly deterrent we seem Mohave loads here and i have all my windows and doors open in fact there seems to be more inside than out
Right have a good day one and all have a lovely day xSlava Ukraini10 -
Bella - enjoy your new garden, it's been a long time coming. I put the essential oil in a misting bottle and add water then spray around the door in the morning and afternoon. My gardener is coming this afternoon to stake the beautiful Mary Berry rose bush which got badly battered during the torrential rain and winds (which I slept through). It's upright rather than bushy so needs to be back to being straight.10

Morning...Late to bed, late to rise again, I try and go to bed when OH is on earlies later when he's really snoring so as not to wake him up..Sometimes i get carried away, like this mornng, 3 o clock...Well, talking about the appointments, guess who showed up a day early to get blood taken? Yep...Izzy, you and me, we need a PA I think to tell us stuff we forget
And I would have shown up a day early to get my eyes tested as well but that's tomorrow...Plans today include screwing some wood to stabilise a wooden planter I acquired last week, and then painting it black with the remains of the fence paint. Then finding some stuff to fill it a bit instead of pure compost. And I have some more seeds to sow. I'm really chuffed, I have finally got some artichokes to germinate. Have to make some space int he front garden for those...
Gers, I just realised I can use your fly trick, normally we have magnetic fly screens up but I haven't got round to sticking it down this year yet, so I'll try that instead, thanks! Ruby, enjoy your day offIzzy, belated Happy Anniversaries...nanny, next time, wear something more protective....like a motorbike jacket or something..as for reverse noises, my lorry is bigger than your lorry....Rosy, hows th new van search going, have you got one yet? Look after yourselves all, maybe add in an extra ice cream because it's hot and it's summer...

It's not 100% foolproof (got two blighters in this morning) but it cuts down the influx hugely.
