Quick question about Civil Service Abatement rules

Options
Hi

I am currently partially retired with a Civil Service pension and have been offered a job outside of the civil service for a higher salary, which if still in the CS would likely result in abatement.  If the job is outside of the CS does abatement no longer apply?

Kind Regards

Employment in a role not covered by Civil Service pension scheme would not result in abatement of pension. You can work anywhere else with no impact, you only suffer abatement if you remain with a Civil Service employer.

One small clarification - as far as I understand, abatement applies not just to those employed by the Civil Service, but anyone employed by an organisation in the Civil Service pension arrangements.

Ie this includes non-CS employers that currently use Alpha such as Houses of Parliament, Metropolitan Police, British Library, etc.
