Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Not looking too good out there this morning although it's incredibly muggy. Yesterday's rain went away mid-morning and it was really quite pleasant although very windy.
Glad you enjoyed Amsterdam Carolbee.
Sorry you didn't get your PIP dp1, hope CA can help.
Spoke to my elderly Aunt yesterday, she's been in hospital - 2 nights in the A&E ward, didn't even make it to a ward. She's home and her son is there at the moment. Trying to get carers to go in is proving quite difficult, there seems to be a shortage in that area.
My 'good' cousin has also been in hospital as her hernia op wasn't very successful, hopefully she's on the right road now.
Absolutely mad day at work yesterday and doesn't seem to be slowing down yet. A couple of us are off to Costco after work for a retirement cake and also a big cake for the P7 leavers. Hoping I can pick up a couple of things for myself too (although not cake!).
Hugs to the poorlies. Take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone off to work soon dog has been walked breakfast has been eaten and I’ve washed up nurse is coming to take hubby’s dressing off today so that is another step nearer he can’t wait until tonight to have his first shower he will have to wait until 6 as I’m going to WW never been for 3 weeks and I can feel it piling back on fingers crossed I haven’t done to much damage but I will draw a line under it and start again I would like to think I can shift any I’ve put on and a bit more before we go up to Northumberland in September . It’s still warm here but rain is forecast for later in the morning I think I will get caught in it walking back from my morning job nothing I can do about that I will just have to ring myself out when I get back . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning folks - it's drizzling here and a bit cooler than yesterday.Rain stopped play all morning and then the sun came out. I wandered round my back garden trying to soothe the battered plants
after the battering they all got on Friday night. Monday banking was also done and I spoke to my SIL in QLD as we missed each other on Friday morning, the third person who always starts the calls off is on holiday so we both forgot.
Early evening yesterday I went to an aqua-cycling session, this was the one I had booked and then cancelled because of the heat, then the heat went so it became more attractive. It's just the issue of getting dressed in the very hot changing rooms, it's such a struggle to get my bra on and any top is just as difficult as it curls up. Yes, I know...pathetic! Anyway, I went and enjoyed it. Monday's sessions aren't as difficult as the two daytime ones. The non-functioning hand held vacuum has been sorted, the battery pack wasn't fully pushed in.This morning I'm off to Glasgow for the follow-up dental appointment. I'll take the chance to drop off recycling at the big dump and collect and order from M&S.I hope that all are well. Happy Tuesday to everyone.11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's looking a bit miserable out there and it seems we are in for a day of sunshine and light rain. No rain yesterday but there is evidence of overnight rain. More peonies got battered down in Sunday's torrential stuff so they have been cut and are now in a vase - that's 3 vases of them now around the house!
DD and 2 DGDs called in after school and departed with 3 big bags of stuff for the charity shop that has been waiting in the small bedroom for weeks. I'm glad to see the back of it at last. I might start again now on the cupboards of doom.
I defrosted the tall freezer yesterday and managed to flood the stairs down into the garage (the freezer is outside the kitchen door at the top of the said steps) It has had a good sort out and I hope the invisible messer upper keeps out of it for a while. I have given up on inventories as I never keep up with them. The smaller freezer (at the bottom of the steps) needs a good sort out too but isn't in need of a defrost just yet.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and getting better. DP1 sorry about your PIP application. CAMELOT I hope some carers can soon be sorted out for your aunt. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
I didn't manage to post yesterday as was in the office. I was busy all day which makes a change - must take a week off more often. I'm not sure whether I said that I'd applied for VR - will know in August if I've been successful, and a managed exit before the end of November. DH is horrified as we have a sizeable mortgage (on a tracker!!) but even if I'm picked I can still decide to stay. There seems to be plenty of temp work out there at a premium rate and I'm really not fussed who I work for, just think the CS is bonkers.
It's dark and gloomy here and we have thunder and lightning. It's set to stay until lunchtime so I'm very glad to be WFH today. I have a couple of bay of E parcels to send off and some veg to buy. Had a A$da food delivery last night but still need a few things as did the order in a hurry.
Hope your DNiece is continuing to improve @nannywindow x
Great to declutter @TravellingAbuela
Hope the nurse appointment goes well for your DH @IzzyBee and good luck at WW later x
Sorry about the PIP assessment @dp1 but it's not over til it's over - do challenge it.
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all well we appear to have caught up with the storm that was supposed to be here at the weekend sir dont know if the landscaper will be here today its predicted to finish raining by 10am and i know he was going to be late as he had to collect the grass this morning so we shall see. Nothing planned for the day just tidying as usual
Nanny I hope your Niece is continuing to improve
Izzy Good luck at WW and i hope the nurses visit for DH goes well but he sounds to be making good progress I hope he enjoys his shower
DP1 I would most certainly challenge your assessment decision
Gers I remember those hot humid changing rooms when i used to go swimming with the children its the worst bit
Coxy I hope you are successful in your bid for ER quite a few people did it at DH work then came back as agency
Right better get dressed now i have had my tea . Have a good day one and all xx

Morning all
Its been raining during the night but meant to clear up around 10 this morning and then be bright sunshine again, I hope so as the three clients and I are meant to be meeting a friend at her beach hut for the day with a picnic lunch, there is a cafe close by for extra drinks etc so should be a nice day if it’s sunny.
DD is day off today so she is still in bed she will walk the dogs later. Dinner tonight is prawn saganaki which dd will cook as it’s her speciality with pasta for them and some veg for me.
House is fairly tidy so not much to do just straighten the lounge.
I am having slight trouble with one of my guests she can be moody and grumpy and yesterday she shouted at me, I immediately shut it down and told her NO you don’t shout at me, she is quite known for her bad temper and I think she has got away with it in the past but she won’t with me, will see how she is today she was immediately sorry afterwards so think she may realise that’s not the way I work !
Camelot hope they manage to get some help for your Aunt xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all, thanks nmlc. It's raining quite hard now but luckily I was out early with the dog. She got a good telling off as she spotted a neighbours cat having a snooze in the grass across the road and lunged.Luckily she couldn't have got to him, there's a fence but she got a good telling off. Poor cat gets bullied by the cat who lives next door to him, they were making a lot of noise last night.Didn't go out yesterday - I set up my neglected sewing machine to do some alterations to some summer clothes, and mend some shorts for DS, the pocket came off as he shoved his phone into it
I'm a bit puzzled too, I've misplaced a brand new hoody, think I've only worn it once, it's bright pink so not easily hidden.Checked the coat rack, wardrobes, car & van with no luck. The only thing I can check now is DS2's house, perhaps he's put it in DGD bedroom thinking it's hers.
I'm picking up DGS from school and taking him back to his DMums, his other Grandma is going away today. Tuesday is usually my 'day off ' but when she mentioned he'd have to go to after school club which he's not keen on, I volunteered & have a very grateful grandson nowHe usually calls with DS after Monday footie training for an ice lolly ,& thanked me.
I need to do my shopping order in a bit but I've taken meat balls in ragu, and an individual shepherds pie out for tea. I've got a few gaps in the freezers now. Well done on tackling yours TA.Sorry about your pip payments DP1, nothing lost in appealing.Hugs to all who want one x

Morning! I was up at six to run into the garden after I heard it tipping down to put yet more buckets under the overhangs and dripping points because I got a 100ltr slimline water butt yesterday from BM to put by the greenhouse but hadn't yet set up the system to drain it into there..Followed by pottering and cursing, I've got a tip run today and I left everything by the saide of the house to put in the car instead of putting it in the car,,,doh! Now it's all soaking wet and so will my car be..Apart from that and fetch OH from work I have nothing planned yet for the rest of the day. But after running round a lot yesterday I think I need a rest ..camelot, hope everyone improves rapidly! izzy, hope your husband enjoys his hwoer, it can make a huge difference to feel clean. 255...Gers, I remember trying to get clothes on a damp body that you cannever quite dry dry enough after swimming, so annoying...hope it's a good session today! TA, that's the good thing, water dries
have a good day! Woo Coxy! VR? My friend took it at christmas, she's never been busier..and happier..she is looking for pt work just not yet
I don't blame you about the cs, my sister works for hmrc, she is constantly stressed and doing stupid long days. bella, have a nice day doing whatever [ nothing, lounge around like a 1940's starlet
] Ruby, well done for putitng your foot down with a firm hand
Rosy, well done! my machine is out all the time and I hardly use it. Maybe I need to put it away. I bet his little face lit up when he knew you were saving him too... Take care all, it's a weird one today...

Hello all, we've had rain overnight too, well it was raining at 4am when a neighbours house alarm went off ! Anyway the garden will be happy and I won't have to water either.
I got rid of a full cs bag yesterday but they didn't want any books so I'll keep them a while longer. I also gave the scrappy man the old car disc brakes, saves us taking the latter to the tip.
DNiece opened her eyes a couple of time last night but her DH didn't think she knew where she was. As some of her wounds are as big/deep as your fist she will need reconstructive surgery and skin grafts. It's going to be a very long recovery road but we are thankful that she's still here, it was touch and go.
Today I'm just pottering around doing a few odd jobs and the elastic waist has gone in a pair of pull on trousers so I'll replace that, somehow. Well where there's a will there's a relative, as they say 🤣
DGD will be walking here for her tea today but if it's raining we'll meet her with the car as it's quite a long walk in the pouring rain. DD will collect her later and drop off a pair of DGS's school trousers too as he's rent them asunder, they were only worn twice ! He was probably playing football at lunchtime 🤔
Camelot I hope they can quickly sort out your Aunt. Sadly carers seem to be like gold dust in lots of areas.
Take care all
