I know this isn't anything to do with debt,
but why on earth do spammers do this??? (see Oprah thread below somewhere as example, it'll get deleted shortly).
I'm assuming they are real people making it up at some point... and I thought to register on the site you had to be a real person.
Why???? do they have nothing better to do??
And if they want a response, why not write the spam like a normal person would, instead of keeping to the overEXCited & weirdly placed CAPITALS!!!!!! that marks the post out as utter spam-rubbish.
Sorry, rant over.....

My guess is that they make money out of it somehow... either as being part of the actual 'list' of names or by referral to a link...
Either way they're idiots.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Whilst I'm guessing your question of why they do it is rhetorical, I have an interesting article which explains in part WHY?! LOL
I get sooooo much it annoys me so much!!

I read that the other week actually, it was quite interesting.
I know they do it because, one out of a thousand times, they get the money (and the internet is a big place....).
But I bet spammers have an awful life... they'll never be able to chat anyone up
(Bloke: 'Hey, what do you do? '
Girl : I'm a teacher, you?'
Bloke: 'I spam people and try to con them out of their money'.
Girl swiflty leaves. )
Sorry for this rant. I have just had 6 spam faxes sent to my work, which has ruined 6 pieces of very expensive card. Grrrrrrr.LBM : August 2007my debts: less than this time last year....!DFW Nerd Club #706I'm Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -

Yep. I have folded them up into christmas cards, and popped a message inside saying:
Dear Fax Spammer,
Merry Christmas!!
Please remove us from your fax marketing database (01350 727748, see christmas cad/spam fax). We would rather CANCEL CHRISTMAS than give our business to a company that condones such an agressive and irritating marketing technique.
And do have a happy new year!!!

AA, you can register your fax number with the Fax Preference Service to stop spamming (as you can with telephone).TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Hi Olive  long time no "see"
Many thanks for that referral you gave me, it's bought us a lunch out
(apologies for thread hijack - I hate SPAM too, but some daft b*gger somewhere must once have bought *something* that encourages them, and it was probably my Dad)0 -
It's because we are a small business... we are with those services, but the faxes keep on coming...... and today I have the time to fight back!!!LBM : August 2007my debts: less than this time last year....!DFW Nerd Club #706I'm Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0

we get so much email spam about 'enhancing' products
We've learnt to laugh at it! And actually play guess the rude word in the sentence - hours (well maybe minutes) of fun!!!
It is annoying that we have a spam blocker though...it clearly doesn't work!Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -

It's quite simple really, a_a. They are sexually inadequate.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
