PPI Claim with Egg Where do I stand ??

Hi

I put a claim into egg against my loan and my credit card. I fell ill in 2003 and tried to make a claim on both insurances, but was refused payout due to what they classed as being a pre exsisting medical condition, I had suffered PND in 1998, so they have jumped on the bandwagon that as i suffered a depression then they would not pay out on post traumatic stress, nevermind all the medical events, leading to to cause of the PTSD!!!.............

It left me in debt as I have been on long term sick since jan 2003!! and have had to enter a dmp for the loan and the card!!!

The credit card has come back that I applied online for it and I must have checked the box for insurance, I can't remember doing this so do I have to take their word for it ???

The loan, I received a letter this morning stating that they can not find a copy of the recording of the telephone conversation for my loan and that I would have been told about the insurance and the pre exsisting medical conditions, so they will not pay out..... I did agree to the insurance on the loan, but no mention of pre exsisting medical conditions.....

What do I do now? on my loan they can not prove that they explained the terms to me (which they did not!) but i also can not now prove that they never either?

Any advice???
:) If you like what I say please say thanks :)

  • If that is your case then I'm afraid you have just lost!

In all cases where you apply online with Egg you have to tick the box before you can progress - if you ticked it without reading it guess who's at fault?

If they sold the PPI on the telephone then they will have the call recorded.
If they can't find it then I would expect them to accept your side of the story.

Apperently I ticked the box on the card, but on the loan side of things they can not find the copy of the conversation.

I still have to pursue the medical claim through the FO, for both the card and loan because they wouldn't pay out due to 1 of the reasons of my being signed off is due to depression due to insomnia after suffer PTSD !!!!

They really have me tied in knots with it all !!
