Today may be better than yesterday which was rather dark and muggy. We had heavy rain for about four minutes. Mind you, torrential storms are in the forecast for later.I spent my time pottering around, keeping an eye on the Trooping and putting things away or getting rid of a few things. Later on I went into town to collect some meds. I thought of cutting the grass but it's not really long enough or thick enough. After being scarified it's still looking mostly bald. When I went to vacuum the window ledge I found that the hand held wasn't working. 😱 That needs more investigation. It's really good to read about everyone's day and life whether all is quiet and peaceful or incredibly busy.Happy Sunday to all.12

Morning Gers and all who follow up early not sure why not a lot going on today just washing and it will go on the airer as the garden is not finished the paving is done but the rest is waiting for the grass to be laid so it looks like one of those Zen gardens with grey sand all i need is a rake to make patterns, hopefully depending on weather will be done by Wednesday
We had a small amount of rain last night but are expecting storms later .
Dinner is salad again its just to muggy here for a roast

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I got quite excited yesterday afternoon as I saw some spits on the kitchen window. But there it stopped! According to the forecast it's supposed to be raining now - it isn't! But heavy rain is forecast for later so I am living in hope that everywhere will get a good soaking. The peonies at the front were already drooping under the weight of them so I cut a large vase full last night before they get battered down even further in the promised rain.
I had quite a profitable little shop in H & B yesterday as everything I wanted was on an offer of some sort or other. It was as quiet as usual so I hope it survives this slump.
It's bed change day but I shall hold off washing it until this threat of rain has passed. The trouble is once it starts it doesn't know when to stop does it!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or getting better. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning All
Dry and bright at the moment but we've had rain on and off for the past couple of days. Quite enjoying the cooler temperatures and of course the garden was certainly in need of a good soaking. More showers today so shall get some washing out this morning.
Lovely little fun run with the little one yesterday, her Mum and Dad came along to watch and she laughed the whole way along - probably only about 250m - I'm happy I could run at her pace that far!! Thankfully she got her banana and T shirt so was quite happy. It was free entry for her too this year so a bonus.
They all came back here for brunch after which then stretched to lunch too before they went off to visit other family, DD helped me pull a dead cordyline from its big container, I hadn't been able to do it myself. Spent the afternoon sorting the greenhouse, the cucumbers have suddenly sprung into life so they needed to be tied up.
Hoping you are all well and have a peaceful Sunday. I have no real plans apart from doing some long overdue housework. Take care. XX11 -
Morning! Sunny but cool at the moment. Storms predicted for here too, hoping the water butts fill a bit, I'm down to two out of four. Busy ish day until later on, need to pick something up, pick up a plant swap from a local gardening group, pick someone up, got to a gc, stop at a friends who's selling plants for charity, back, drop off at train station, stop at another friend to give him a lift to fetch his car, then hope fully go for dinner out. After that, slump and do nothing...I do have a big plateful od vegetables to process [remains of massive salad where only really the cucumbers were eaten so the celery will get chopped for the freezer and cooking, the peppers will go into a ratatouille type thing {italian version] and then I will put some chicken to marinate for tomorrow. Oh, and wander out to the garden a few times to look at the sky and enjoy the tree not being there. when we parked up last night I glanced down the drive [ really a big path] and was overjoyed to not see the tree over the garage...small things...camelot, glad she got her banana, crisis averted!
bella, welcome back, glad you had fun, sounds lovely and future excursions! Gers, my sister watched it too, I had updates as it went along. Glad you got your fly problem sorted so easily[ eventually!] ...nanny, hope your niece is pulling through..Take care all whether it's wet or dry...

Morning a ll, thanks GersWe had thunder & lightning around 2am which woke me, and Pooch. She hates any loud noise so the torrential rain on the conservatory type roof in the kitchen, coupled with the thunder really spooked her. I moved her bed into the front room, shut the doors and lay on the sofa. She settled after a bit and we both dropped off until 7. I'll probably drop off watching tv laterMeanwhile we are off to watch DGD play her football at 9 , it's a friendly. DGS was really upset yesterday, his team lost a semi final in the last couple of minutes. He wouldn't talk to us for ages, but the opposing goalie came to console him which was lovely, & one of their parents told him he was the best player on the pitch . At least they can have a bit of a break now, they go away midweek.Glad DGD enjoyed her fun, and you had a nice family day CamelotNot sure what to do for tea, I'll let DH choose as it's Fathers Day. I have a small beef joint that will need freezing if I don't use it today. Blue sky again at the mo but more storms to come later, so take care everyone x

Morning everyone
I think we must all have the same weather forecast - rain due tonight.
I've got a pile of ironing to do this morning and then I'll go down the hill to sit with dad while mam goes to church. Nothing else planned unless I end up seeing DD and little one but I'm quite happy to sit outside and read.
Had a nice chat with eldest DD in Germany - she's coming home on Wednesday to go and see Stacey Dooley with me - then she'll be at home until Saturday. She bought the tickets as part of my Christmas present last year - it's been cancelled twice.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all, after I cleaned through yesterday I thought I'd worn myself out enough to sleep last night but no, I watched the clock go round after half an hour shut eye. Yesterday turned out sunny again after the rain so I did a small wash and threw in the bathroom mats for good measure but I had to run out to get it in when big spots of rain started. False alarm as it came to nothing although Mr Fix It said he caught that shower on the way home and the traffic had to slow down to a crawl as it was a terrific cloud burst, and he was only about 2 miles away !
It's bright and hot already but we're due thunderstorms/rain etc later. Dad is coming over today for a roast pork lunch then his tea. He'll keep us entertained with his skewed take on everything in the news and DD will come over later to see Mr Fix It.
DNiece had a bit more of her leg removed on Friday and they are now happy that they have got all the infection. They will start bringing her out of the induced coma and finally she can then start her long recovery. Thank you all for your support, you are such lovely people 🧡
Happy Father's Day to all Dad's, past and present.
Take care all.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers.
We are back from a week away to Suffolk. Glorious wall to wall sunshine all week, which was unexpected and really lovely. We stayed near Southwold and explored various villages and market towns plus Southwold and Aldeburgh. Lots of charity shops and antique centres visited and I got some bargains. The rental cottage was nice and roomy with an annexe for DDad. Unfortunately someone smashed one of the conservatory windows on Thursday night/Friday morning, so we had to report that to the rental company. Such a sleepy little village, it was most unexpected.
We arrived back mid-afternoon yesterday so managed to get two loads of washing done and on the line. Torrential rain during the night which woke us up, but still warm and sunny today. We are dropping DDad to my DSis for the week, then going to the ILs to see FIL.
So sorry to hear of your DNiece @nannywindow - I hope that she's on the mend soon, just awful xx
Hope everyone else is doing okay. We have a hosepipe ban here in Kent now. DS2 kept the pots going for us whilst we were away and we have lettuce and tomatoes doing well. Now we're back I'm going to invest in some more colour for the garden starting on Tuesday night at a local WI plant sale. I've been invited to try the WI with a friend of mine. Not sure it's my 'thing' but will see what it's like.
Have a good day all,
