NB if you select a station to collect your tickets from, you are not limited to picking them up at the named station.

The point of making you choose a station is to ensure you do not try to collect them at a location where collection facilities do not exist.

I could select Aberdeen as the pickup location when booking tickets, and happily turn up at Penzance and collect the same tickets.

  • My partner has a Nationwide credit card, I have the supplementary card to it. Both cards have the same 16 digit card number (two other card issuers use different card numbers).

He used to commute by train, so I could buy train tickets using my card, text him the pick up code and he collected the tickets from his 'work' station, with his card. Our 'home' station only has one ticket machine, so often a queue, out of order or the delivery area of the machine has rain water in it, so all the tickets stick together.

Would be interested in how she gets on, crossing London as I normally get my tickets from SWR and have noticed that I don't get an eticket option if the journey involves London. Have to pick up paper tickets.

In the end, she went down to her local station ticket office last week and bought a ticket over the counter for travel from her local station to Kings Cross- she didn't want to risk any difficulties.
  • Thought afterwards, when I have been unable to collect tickets on departure from my local station (i.e. when a chain saw was used to get to the money box, which had no money in it....) I have had to collect the physical tickets from the counter at Waterloo (arrival sation), using the code. I can't remember if I needed to show my credit card, but wondered if your mum could collect tickets at her local ticket counter than you bought online.
