Advice on Holiday Accrual

Looking for some guidance please. I've resigned from my role and I am due quite a lot of holidays (I've only taken 2 days this year so far and our holiday year is from Jan-Dec). Our policy states that when you leave, your entitlement is based on the week you leave (whereas when you start, it's based on the month you join). My issue is that it states you must be in service on the Friday of your final week in order to accrue the holiday entitlement for that week. So for example, if I left on a Wednesday I wouldn't be entitled to any holiday accrual for that week. Is that right? I was under the impression that you accrue holiday each day you're in employment so if this is right, I'm effectively losing out on half a weeks accrual even though I'm still working for them.
TIA

I'd say you're right, but have you worked out whether it will actually make a difference? Employer can't round down, and most would round up, which might be enough to cover the final few days.Signature removed for peace of mind0

The difference is likely be pretty small. To avoid conflict make your final day a Friday. Do bear in mind that the employer can require you to use up as much leave as possible before your employment end date. That is entirely at their discretion. The employee cannot demand to be paid for all remaining leave.
