Morning All
Wall to wall sunshine again, yesterday wasn't quite as hot as previous days but still very warm. The garden, allotment and greenhouse are needing quite a lot of watering at the moment.
Awful news about your niece TA, what a worry.
Hope your tree felling went well taff.
How exciting NRA, fingers crossed everything goes well, enjoy the canal holiday.
Belated Happy Anniversary Chrisca.
Hope you enjoyed the recording Gers.
I had to laugh at your client falling asleep Ruby, I would be the same!
Must do some shopping later as the little one is staying here tomorrow night - she's doing a run on Saturday morning and it's closer to here. She did it last year and they gave her a necklace (medal), bottle of water, T shirt and most importantly to her a banana! Hope they have bananas this year too or there will be tears! The run is for all children up to high school age from this area's schools and is pretty busy. It was her Nursery sports day yesterday but she said it was just a practice for Saturday!
Going to cut the grass after work, we are forecast rain over the weekend so need to get it done asap.
Have a good day everyone, hugs to anyone in need. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks nmlc. Yet another scorcher in store but I wish the nights were a bit cooler. I was far too warm in bed so it was a restless night.
It was all happening up here yesterday. After the drama of the blaze on the moor (which 5 fire engines and crew spent all night tackling before it was finally extinguished) Not connected I'm sure but at breakfast time there was a burst water main which left us without water all day! It affected the traffic too as it involved much digging up of roads. To give Yorkshire Water their due they kept us up to date with recorded messages and finally around 8 pm the last message was to tell us the supply was back to normal. As everything comes in 3's I am wondering what today's drama might be!
A bitsa day ahead for me. Bits of cleaning and bits of gardening. It's too hot for tackling anything strenuous. There's a bit of ironing which may or may not get done as well.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or getting better. NAN your niece and all her family are in my thoughts. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning folks.London is hell in hot weather! 🤣
The recording was really enjoyable so now I’m looking forward to listening to it once the new series starts. This one is the final episode, one of the guests was Alan Davies, another treat. Mind you the biggest thrill was the life-size Dalek in the foyer of Broadcasting House. 😱 Of course, we went to a pub afterwards. Now is going back home time. Train is at 11.30.Happy Thursday to all.PS no water in the hotel, pump failure. I topped and tailed using bottled water. 🤣9 -
Morning all
Looks to be another lovely day yesterday was scorching by mid morning, we were doing a bit of weeding luckily in the shade but had to keep stopping for some water and a breather.
Goimg to collect Rob today ( my private client) and take him to work we are in the cafe today doing some baking so at least not in the direct sun.
Dinner tonight will be some salmon with veggies for me and jersey royals and veg for OH, dd is working a late shift today.
Washing on the go and I will hang it out before work.
Nan I am so sorry to hear about your niece I hope she pulls through xx
Have good days all xx9 -
After several weeks of feeling either ill or meh I feel great today. I will try to tackle some of the jobs I've been procrastinating about and also have a bit of time to do some sewing which has fallen on the wayside again.
Esben is eating his breakfast although has turned his nose up at the Lidl jam (I usually get Bonne Maman) which came top in the GH taste tests and is half the price of Bonne Maman, I think I shall have to find an old jar and decant it so he won't know the difference. He's telling me he does't want to go to nursery but he will enjoy it when he is there, he's needed baths as soon as he's got home the past two nights because they have been spending most of the day in the garden and he is getting filthy.
Steve is golfing although the club looked very busy when I dropped him off, everyone looking to get a round in before the heat builds up. I have got a load of bedding in and a load of Laura's washing to peg out as soon as Brian gets up to look after Esben. Brian is off to Glasgow this weekend to see Elton John - they bought the tickets 3 years ago but covid interfered. Laura decided she couldn't go now, there is no-one in Glasgow to look after the children and Esther is still dependent on her.
Nanny, I hope the news is more positive today, thinking of you all.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning everyone
Beautiful morning again. Little one came after nursery for a play and her tea. I put water in the paddling pool for her and she had a great time - I sat with my feet in as it was so hot. After tea we watered the plants and were just sitting reading stories when DD picked her up.
Nanny - that's awful news about your niece...I'm thinking of you all.
Snoozer - little one came home scruffy too - her white socks and her knees were filthy.
Camelot - I'd pop a banana in your bag just in case they don't have them.
Little one and her friends also starting in reception in September have an hour in their new classroom this morning - then they will each week till we break up. I think she was a little bit nervous though she has spent time with her new teacher already. She asked me at the weekend would there be anyone at school 'who looks like me' - I said everyone looks a little bit different. She said ' no I mean with a monitor on their arm and a tubey in their tummy.' It made me feel so sad for her, but also so pleased that our lovely little school is staying open and she'll be there for the next 7 years.
I'd better go - I need to go for some shopping before work. Hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning..Tree felling is ongoing, last night we both went out the back and said, look at the sky!!! we can see the sky!! When I parked my car out of the way so they could get their vans on the drive I saw a table outside a neighbours house so I filched it. One of the legs was wobbly and had been badly repaired so I got my hammer out this morning to prise the nails out and managed to hit myself in the forehead with the end of the hammer. I am now sporting a 2 pound coin lump just by my eyebrow so that's attractive...And raising my eyebrows is now proving painful so I'd better lock down on surprised reactions today. .Done some poking out this morning, the teasel is now by itself to grow up and I had some goats beard off a friend, I've never seen it before but it's lovely, really tall with purple flowers, porbably a thug but whatever, it's lovely for me and the insects.Nanny, I hope she's doing better today..camelot, I hope there's a banana in it for her..Izzy, are you crossing the days off on a calendar? I would be
TA, I hope there isn't a third one otherwise I'm in for another two accidents ::eeek!:: Gers, I know someone who built his own life sized dalek with telescopic eye and everything..I think it lives in his kitchen now...Ruby, baking? In this weather? Good luck!! snoozer, wb, healthy at last!! Good to hear...dp1, bless her..it's no fun feeling different at her age, I hope she enjoys it though. Take care all, it's another scorchio day ahead...

Morning all, it's going to be another hot day. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts re our DNiece. The phone call yesterday was a bit more positive and now her chance of pulling through have gone up from 10% to 40% which is not great but the surgeon was going to see her last night and he has the last word, so hopefully there will be more good news today or tomorrow.
I didn't sleep again last night so I've been to the sm already this morning. All the frozen foods have been put away but I'm going to have to sort out my freezers again as I've forgotten what's in there, plus this messy elf has made such a muddle, especially in the chest one. I still have some fresh meat packs to split and freeze but they seem full already 🙄.
I'm going to cook sausages in a bun for brunch then put the dried goods away but I don't know what to have for tea 😂 I think a nana nap may be on the cards this afternoon too.
TA Oh dear, it never rains but it pours eh ? Sorry for the pun. We have 6 mountains on fire around here as it's all tinder dry.
Camelot I hope there are bananas, take some tissues just in case.
dp1 oh bless little one, I hope reception goes well for her.
Snoozer I do that with Heinz tomato sauce bottle, even SiL can't tell the difference and he's really fussy 🤨
Gers safe travels home. Glad you enjoyed the Dalek and your trip, we took DGS to the Cardiff exhibition when he was small, he couldn't get enough of Dr Who then 😂
Izzy retirement will not come fast enough I suspect. Keep counting.
RedRuby enjoy your baking with Rob and if there's any spare please send it my way 😁
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning all, I know I'm late & it might be afternoon when I finish this postI didn't post yesterday. There was a fatal accident down the road on Tues night, DH heard a bang but couldn't see anything & went to bed but 15 mins later there were loads of emergency vehicles and it was the blue lights flashing that made me look out. Back to bed, then about 1am there was a knock on the door, policeman asking if they could view our CCTV. Had to wake DS as we don't know how to play it back. He got what he wanted & took our number, then asked if someone could call in the morning to put it on a USB, which they did. They closed our road off which caused a lot of cars doing U turns yesterday, and a car and a van collided
. There are a lot of flowers placed at the scene this morning, so sad, only a young man
Glad the news is a little better NanDp1, hope little one enjoys the try out in Reception, bless her. Happy memories for me, I worked in Reception mainly for about 15 years at the school where DSons went( After they'd left though...)
Glad you enjoyed your trip Gers. Camelot hope DGD enjoys the runTaff take it easy, no more hammer blows! You too Izzy in this heat, and Snoozer.RR hope it's not too hot in the kitchen. Got to admit DGS nudged me awake a couple of times during the Spidey filmI've put my delivery away so got a little more choice for tea, might do an egg salad as I seem to have had an extra box delivered. Reminds me , I must put an order in for poochs food.Slap plenty sunscreen on and take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
