Is it possible to top up when I am a non resident.

Before spending hours on the phone etc I thought (hoped) someone may know the answer to this. I have been resident in Austria for 2 years, my UK pension is a couple of years short on contributions due to not working for the last 10 years or so and I think some time contracted out. So is it possible for me to buy these years now?

Yes it is possible. Have a look at Social Security abroad: NI38 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk), complete form CF83. If you worked in the UK and are working in A, select Class 2, tick box 25 if you want to fill past years and leave the bank detail blank. Class 2 costs £163.80 for old years at the moment and adds £302 per year to your pension
Send the form to HMRC and await their reply with a schedule of years and the cost.0 -
