do i need to tell my morgage company if part time living at an address?

Hi. I have recently bought a mortgaged house on a standard residential mortgage. We have had a change in circumstance work wise which means we will not be living in the house 24/7. We will be living in both the new house and our old one (weekends new and weekdays old most likely). This will probably be for around 6 months. We will make sure buildings insurance covers this and wont be away longer than any insurance clause. We will not rent the property out or let anyone else stay there. No major works will be done to the house apart from changing windows.

My question is do I need to tell my mortgage company this? I know lots of people that haven't moved into a mortgaged house straight away because of refurbishments etc and they didnt tell mortgage company. I assume as long as we're paying and no one else lives there they probably wont care.

I think you are probably right - but check your Mortgage Document - it should say there and exclusions and terms and conditions.
