Employer changing my shift

Hi, my employer is currently trying to swap my shift around.
My shift pattern and working hours will not change, but I will be moving to a new team which moves my pattern a week forward.
This means that all of my holidays I have booked do not match anymore and to cover them I will need more holidays which I do not have.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Speaking to your employer is the obvious first step. Are there any holiday dates where you could concede (ie agree to change) without any real detriment to yourself? If so, make it clear you'd be happy to 'help' the business by agreeing to change those, in the hope the employer will play fair in respect of other dates.iiaMNuGex said:Hi, my employer is currently trying to swap my shift around.

Speak to you employer - ask whether they can delay the change until after your holiday(assuming that it is in the near future)
Are any of the holiday ones where you have booked th time off but not made third party booking? If so, see if you can switch those holiday dates.
If the employer won't budge they you can ask to take the extra days as unpaid leave.
(Is there any chance you might be able to swap shifts with anyone else for those days?)All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
If you had sufficient holiday allowance before, is it the way the shift pattern has moved on which means you are losing the holiday?iiaMNuGex said:Hi, my employer is currently trying to swap my shift around.
