Yesterday morning was a cool 15° when I left home though it soon heated up. As I fuelled up in town I literally bumped into the lovely Ben Fogle. He gave me a very polite greeting and smile - great start to my day.I made Glasgow in good time, took loads to the big tip, a bag of stuff to a CS and managed a quick visit to Kelvingrove Art Museum to see the Mary Quant exhibition. My late DM had an unopened pair of MQ tights which I found when clearing out her place. I bought what I thought was a cotton crocheted summer hat (not by MQ but in the 'inspired by' range) which is actually paper. It was needed in the blazing sun.Strictly Ballroom was excellent. Kevin Clifton was, of course, brilliant at dancing and surprisingly good st singing. I had never seen the film so can't compare them, however the undoubted star scenes waere the Paso Doble ones.I drove straight home, didn't stop for any shopping. The sun stayed out until I was almost here. We had about 10 secs of rain at about 8'ish. I found out this morning that only eight miles away they had thunder, lightning and hard rain. There was rain this morning though it's stopped. The forecast is for more extreme heat and perhaps a thunderstorm or two. I should probably do some shopping but am not too inclined just now. I can eat out of the freezer. After my long day I'm more tired than I expected so may just mooch around.Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Sunday to all.8

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, glad you had a good time.
We have had rain overnight but not much. There were a few rumbles of thunder about 7pm but nothing came of it. I do like a good storm!
Lots done yesterday, loch swim (it wasn't cold - about 16 degrees), allotment, library and a bit of shopping. Weeded the bed I use for veggies at my neighbours but it was really too hot and the ground was solid. Hopefully the rain will soften it and I can plant the sweet corn and some squash.
Also had some time in the sunshine reading a book although it got a bit hot.
I'm off out with DD and her pal today looking at wedding dresses - looking forward to going for something to eat after.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX8 -
Morning all, seems people are having a Sunday lie in and I don't blame you.
I painted one side x 3 fence panels yesterday and I'm a bit stiff this morning although glutton for punishment I'm going to do some more painting but it will be touch and go if I have enough paint.
We had a tiny drop of rain about tea time yesterday and the same weather is forecast for today too, hope we get a few more spots though, the grass has patches of yellow on it and could sure do with some of the wet stuff.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care all, stay safe and keep well.

Morning all
Yesterday turned out to be a scorcher ! It was up to 30deg by the afternoon, I got some nice summer pyjamas in matalan so was much cooler last night. Our neighbours had a party for one of their 50th they invited us round for a drink but tbh I couldn’t be bothered with changing out of my pyjamas 😂 and we wouldn’t have known anyone apart from the neighbours, anyway they kept going till the early hours so I bet there will be some sore heads this morning.😬
Plans for today are fluid but the dogs will need a walk at some point, did not plant my plants yesterday so that will need doing too.
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning allGlad you enjoyed Strictly @Gers Not surprised you're feeling tired after your busy day yesterdayEnjoy your wedding dress shopping @camelot1001Yesterday I planted some flowers/plants that I'd bought the day before into my pots. Love Busy Lizzies so have a pot full of those in a lovely lavender colour. Made some cupcakes and had one of those in the afternoon sitting in the shade reading with a cuppa. Next door are doing goodness knows what with a bit of noisy machinery which started yesterday afternoon and has only just started again this morning. Hope it's done by lunchtime as DS is coming round and we're having a BBQ so would like to enjoy that in peace.Did some ironing early this morning before the heat set in. Just put my T***o shopping away so sitting with a coffee. Was going to sit outside but grrrrrrrr!Have a good day everyone xx8

Morning all, we've all been up early- me first
DH had a sore head after we watched the European final
but we had our bbq quite early . Some cold sausages left over. I'm not going to bbq tonight, I have a pork fillet which I'll do with garlic & a little bit of honey & prob just some chips for the men & veg or salad.
Had a letter yesterday saying my bank switch has been completed. I knew it had when I took DGS to the cinema and my old card was declined, luckily I had my new one and had memorised the pin, otherwise he wouldn't have got his popcornIt still didn't work until I mentioned that it was new, and the man said you probably need to activate it in the machine- doh, no probs after that. I used Martins guide to switching so will get a bonus sum of money in a couple of months
Think we're just having a mooch around day too Gers, though I have planted some stuff in pots and watered.Hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning Everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
Yesterday's weather was very hot. I was invited to my lovely neighbours BBQ, which was very nice.
Today is not so hot.
Hope everyone has a good day. x

Hello everyone
It's cloudy here and cooler than yesterday - I hope the sun comes out later so I can sit outside.
I bought little one a paddling pool yesterday - she had a great time playing in it - she put her slide over the side so she could slide and splash. It was lovely and warm in my garden.
It turned out to be a more expensive purchase than I planned - I bought a hosepipe too but then that didn't fit on my kitchen tap so I had to buy an adaptor. Never mind hopefully she'll get plenty use out of it and I can use the hose to water the garden when the water butt is empty.
DD picked her up at lunch time as they were going out so I'll have to empty it later.
She was playing outside with her great gran this morning while I was busy on the laptop with my dad - she fell down really hard and skinned her knee - she was screaming. Needed magic cream, plasters and lots of cuddles. When she calmed down she complained that great gran's plasters were really boring - she likes the ones that have pirates or unicorns on them!
Going to do my ironing while I'm waiting for the sun - hope I'm not still waiting at 6 tonight!
Hope everyone has a good day x9 -
