We'll be back tomorrow.Hope everyone has a good day, and that the poorlies are not quite as poorly.Take care folks.9

Morning All
Thanks for starting nmlc.
Enjoy your party Scarlet.
Bright and sunny at the back of the house, not so much at the front - there are some rather dark clouds about and we're not used to that!
Sports day was good fun and the parents seemed to enjoy it too. The ice poles weren't frozen, mainly due to the dinner lady keep opening the freezer to see if they were! The children will have a treat at playtime today with a hopefully frozen ice pole.
The DD of my friends across the road had her prom last night and looked absolutely beautiful. A few of them met at their house and all looked amazing. Another neighbour piped them off on their way to their venue, no doubt I'll hear all about it later.
I didn't have the best night's sleep so I'm glad it's Friday, going to visit DD and the little one on my way home, haven't seen them all week.
Hope you all have a good day, hugs to the poorlies. Take care. XX7 -
Morning folks.Blue skies are just peeping out from under the thinning clouds, it could be a scorcher here. 🌞 Yesterday got much hotter in the afternoon. My pool session was very good, I can feel myself getting stronger. I was able to do more of the standing exercises which I struggled with last week. Mind you, I was really tired but felt good. My reward was an hour in the back garden enjoying the sun whilst listening to an audiobook. Another good feeling was seeing all the flowers in bloom, they get hardly an attention from me yet keep popping up every year. I'm keenly watching for my favourite plant to bloom - inula hookeri - which brings me great delight. The brilliant rose Mary Berry has four tight buds and one on the cusp of blossoming.I'll be having the last remaining chicken breast today, no salad left so it'll get shredded, mixed with sweetcorn and mayo then stuffed into a roll. There was a bundle of asparagus in danger of going limp yesterday so I cooked and ate it all. Just delicious.Scarlet - enjoy your trip and family event.Camelot - 😂 at the dinner lady. What a treat to hear a piper in your street.Right, I have things to do this morning before getting out in the sun. I've realised that this is the first time in four years (apart from my Oz visit last year) that I've got tanned hands and I've got tan lines on my feet from wearing trekker sandals. 😅
I hope that all are doing well. Happy Friday to all.8 -

Morning! I'm showered, dressed, cats treated, now what to do..I fancy a jaunt in the car somewhere, don't know where though.I've done as much gardening as I can this weekbut I;ve got no motivation to do anything else. I do have to fetch my presciptions and take a form back, and pick up a plant off someone local and another off someone not as local. I fetched a couple of bedside tables last night for free, Mexican pine and very heavy so that's a project for next week, sand and wax..And I found somene who makes concrete planters in cotswold stone colours so I bought one to see how it goes and will probably order a lot more when the garden can be done. I do need ot get some mint ot put in it though..so I may go and find a gc I haven't been to before..
still need ot find a plumber too.
camelot, I did laugh at the dinner ladies..Gers, well done for persevering, sometimes it's really hard ot keep going with something. Izzy, not jumping at the chance for extra work?Scarlet, have fun...TA, hope youre enjoying the van...Take care all, enjoy the weather if you have the nice stuff...

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We had a nice meal apparently - I say apparently as my sinusitis is still with me and still no taste or smell. My hake main course was very spicy according to DH who had a taster. I was in London at an event yesterday and absolutely whacked when I got home.
Enjoy the family party @ScarletRibbons x
Have fun on your car jaunt @-taff x
Chilli con carne for tea tonight. I also have some washing to do as we are off to Suffolk tomorrow with DDad - think it's going to be hot so shorts will be packed, along with fleece jumper and jeans because well, you never know!
Have a good day all

Morning all, thanks nmlc.Gers, the aqua cycle sounds good, my bingo wings could do with tightening up
I try a few different moves when I go swimming but I think they do an aqua aerobics class at the pool I go to- must investigate!
Welcome to the NW Scarlet- enjoy your party. It's lovely this morning but still a cool breeze. I said to DH last night he looks like he's been toasted - wo rking outside all day.Izzy- you are in demand! Camelot hope the ice poles are frozen by nowHope you find a nice GC TaffDidn't end up doing the school run yesterday so went for a walk through the park & then into the back garden, talking to our neighbour over the gate - she was moving very gingerly as she'd fallen downstairs -ouch.DH & DS had their chicken on a barm with salad, I had chicken ,salad & coleslaw. Some left, that can be chopped or sliced for another meal. The garden twine holding the rambling rose at the front has snapped during the night so that needs sorting asap, don't want it to break, it smells gorgeous when you go out of the front door.Hope everyone is well, or as good as they can be , & enjoy the sunshine x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Still cloudy and cool here but forecast to get better tomorrow for a few days - I hope it's right. Gers - send me some of your sunshine down please
Little ones usual Friday sleepover will be tomorrow instead as she's still on a lot of medicine today, though it has been reduced from 9 times a day to 7. Tomorrow it goes down to 5. Some of her friends at nursery sat and made cards for her yesterday - their own idea so that was lovely.
I bought a nice little wooden planter to grow salad in so I built that up last night - it was easy enough and is quite sturdy - I'll put the compost in after work.. It's sitting in the living room at the minute so no cats can get in - but has a dolls' pushchair in it so my cat doesn't get in either!
Better get sorted as I need to go down the hill to do dads banking....hope everyone has a good day.7 -
Hi everyone,
Coxy, belated Happy Anniversary and Nanny a belated Happy Birthday.
I've been veering between very busy and very tired this week but the good news is that the children seem to be a lot better, fingers crossed they stay healthy for a while.
We were in London yesterday with Laura and Esther, doing a photoshoot for Laura's new acupuncture website. Steve went to be a patient (although wasn't needed) and I went to look after Esther. She only slept for 90 minutes the whole day so it was quite hard work. Laura had borrowed her best friend's flat for the shoot, it was a beautiful place. She went to school with Dan and I know him well but he wasn't there although his partner, David had just flown back from New York, he must have wished us away but he was very gracious. The flat is in an Art Deco building with huge windows and greenery outside, it's on two floors and across the corridor from their front door is a beautiful residents indoor swimming pool. It was completely empty yesterday and apparently mostly is, it must feel like having your own private pool.
Have a good day.7 -
Hello all, the sun is out but we have the strong breeze again. Yesterday we managed to get the last toilet valve for the 'van in the shop, normally we're not that lucky and they would have just sold it to the person in front ! We had a look around at all the new vans too and they were all very nice but nothing took our fancy. Then we ordered some new fence panels and they will be delivered this afternoon and on the way home we went to the nearest garden centre for a coffee and some toasties. I bought myself a hardy fuchsia called "chilli red", so named because before the flowers open it looks like a chilli plant, clever eh ? I tried to plant it but the ground was rock hard. We could have thunder storms tomorrow though, the garden could do with some rain and it will save me watering the plants.
Today I have some ironing (not my favourite job) to tackle while I wait for the panels to arrive although I did offer to help himself tidy his shed instead but he declined, I just can't abide doing any ironing, can't you tell 🤔
Take care all, enjoy your travels and breaks and hugs to the poorly ones.
nan xx
Gers I forgot to say I had to g00gle that plant, it's very pretty and maybe I can just find room to squeeze that one in somewhere too !Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8
