It may raise the question is it really a full time role if your work can be carried out consistently in 4 days over an extended period!

My husband buys additional holiday and always has loads left over to use for 2 months when takes every Friday off.
It's never been an issue in years and he just books it as usual holiday - but that's his company, and they are clearly OK with this.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I work in a job with a generous annual leave. I have 13 days leave to take before the leave year is over. I work 5 days a week. if i took one day a week off for 13 weeks. Would that be unusual? my employer is checkkng with HR whether that constitutes a change to working hours....
It is quite possible that confusion has been created by asking a non-standard question.

Why didn't you simply submit a leave request for the first Friday?
And another leave request for the second Friday?
    etc?

i work mainly on my own for a big employer. I was told i wasnt allowed to take it was it was a change in working hours. However, i am sure this incorrect. Others in the organisation pick and choose what their part time hours are.
I would go back and clarify that you weren't requesting a permanent change to working hours, you were requesting taking AL 1 day a week for 13 consecutive weeks, once the AL is used up you'd be back to working 5 days.

They might have mis-understood, they might not want to set a precedent. I can see someone taking the same set day off for an extended time but lead to issues amongst the workforce working that day. We're a small team of 6, 2 already don't work Fridays, 1 is currently off long term sick, which leaves 3 of us and a problem when one of those 3, wishes to be off that day and it's being handled between 2 of us.

I’ve seen people do this when they are returning from maternity leave and have a lot of leave built up while they were food. They use the accumulation of days to adjust to being back at work by reducing their days, using the AL, without it effecting their pay.
