Barclays not unfreezing bank account

In 2020 my husband paid a cheque from his pension into his Barclays account.  For a reason unknown to us, Barclays froze his bank account about a month later.  We think it may have been a culmination of things - he withdrew a larger than normal amount and he lost his bank card.   We are now three years down the line and have had to involve a solicitor and the courts.  A court order was served on Barclays well over a month ago but they still have not released the funds.  On top of that RBS who my husband had set up a second account with because he couldn't use the Barclays account, have also frozen his account.  This was following a payment that should have gone into his account from Avis Car Hire.  This so far has not reached his account and the account is frozen.  Over the last few years, he has had problems with payments not reaching the account on time or at all and having to chase them up with RBS but never had anything frozen before.  My husband is not working at present because of health issues and is relying on me to help him out financially.  As you can imagine this is getting me more and more in debt.  Has this happened to anyone else and if so is there anything else we can do to speed things up.

I think you should talk to the court bailiffs about siezing assets? It makes a good TV story if you can waltz into a Barclay's branch and legally seize the tablet computer out of the staff member's hands! Just make sure that the cameras are rolling.

Have you complained formally to RBS about his other account?

It is possible that his name is being shared between the banks via CIFAS. You and he should have a read of this link: CIFAS marker removal - MSB Solicitors
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Hi - yes, that would be a really good story.  Yes, the Solicitor has also become involved with RBS as it appears to be involved.   I will look at the CIFAS marker removal.   Thank you for that - really helpful.

By way of update.  We have spoken to the solicitor who has advised that apparently Barclays have requested an extension to pay out following the Court order.   The Solicitor is going in to the Procurator Fiscal's office (we are in Scotland) to try and ascertain what is going on.  I didn't know that you could request an extension to a Court order.....
