Hi, hoping someone can help. We moved abroad nearly six years ago and stopped paying several credit/store cards and loans. We returned a couple of years ago and found old letters stating a CCJ on behalf of Next had been made against my husband (at one point bailiffs had been instructed). Last year we started receiving letters from Wescot Credit Services on behalf of Cabot-Next (no mention of the CCJ) and linking the two together we began paying the debt back without questioning if this was connected to the CCJ. How do we check this with Wescot please? We have about £400 left to pay and want the CCJ to show as settled once we have paid.

After 6 years the judgement and the debt will drop off your files automatically, paid or not, it must be nearing that date by now, so I wouldn't bother doing anything, the whole lot will vanish together.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
