Is this a Legit e-Mail? Culpa Inkasso GmbH

I keep receiving e-mails from a company called Culpa Inkasso GmbH who I know are a legitimate company in Germany, but why I am getting the mail is beyond me, it is saying that I am in debt and I owe €570.45 but I cannot see who I owe it to or what it is for?
This is a final demand mail, is it legitimate? I called the company in question and asked to speak to someone in English and they hung up on me!
Every inch of my being is screaming out "SCAM" but I'm not actually sure!
Anyone else know anything?

Don't go phoning anyone.
The rule is you ignore emails and only respond to letters.
This will be a scam2 -

Same advice here, delete and block.
Scammers can clone websites to trick people into thinking they are dealing with a legitimate company. They can also spoof telephone numbers so you think you are dealing with the right concern. I'd recommend having a look at 'Scam Interceptors' on BBC. (Also on iPlayer).
If they write a letter then you can have another think.
But also, we're always being told not to act in haste because that's what scammers do, they try to scare you into parting with money. That's really good advice. Someone is trying to rob you, don't let them. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. No ?
Then it`s an obvious scam, do as advised by the others, never, ever respond to emails asking for money.
If a debt is legitimately owed, the company will write to you detailing what is owed and why.

Figured I would come on here to add some reassurance. I also was subject to this scam. As someone that considers themselves fairly switched on to scams this one was pretty convincing and had me thinking twice.
Seems to use legit debt collection companies (either spoofed or not) to chase scam debts, threatening court action. There are even sites claiming to offer legal advise to solve that I presume are part of the scam.
I figured I would play dumb and ignore everything, which i did. I kept getting reminders and final payment demands. 4 at least. Seems to have stopped now though.
I wished I could find more online about it when it hit me, hence adding this comment here to help others.
Just ignore it all.3
