Good Morning
Has anyone heard of play POGL? I've received an email from them saying I've won First Prize and that I can claim my prize in the app.
I don't have the app so the only way I could have entered is via a competition listed on MSE. It would possibly be one of the competitions where you purchase a free ticket and answer a simple question.
As I enter a lot of competitions it is easy for me to forget which ones I've entered that are not my regulars. This is possibly a competition featured in the last week as they appear to draw the winners at 7pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Hopefully it's not a scam and I have genuinely won.

**** UPDATE - I have now received another email from POGL stating they made a mistake and the first email I received was an error. So I now believe this to be a scam as the second email went straight into my spam folder.
So this is just a warning to others that this maybe a scam website.

Glad it's not just me. I think it's a ploy to get you to download the app in order to claim your "supposed" prize. Then they would have access to your phone and goodness knows what would happen then. It’s not a scam, Pogl used to be WordSurge, an app that was part of the ITV competitions website, https://www.itv.com/thismorning/articles/download-wordsurge-now-for-free there were cash prizes to be won by playing a live game on the app at 12:30pm on a Monday.
The app has since been rebranded to Pogl, and there are live games at 7pm on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, if you finish a live game in the top 16 you win a cash prize. I have previously played Wordsurge so that will be why I received the emails from POGL. I had no idea they had changed names. That now answers how they had my correct username.

I've won on this a couple of times, my husband got the email too the other day, quickly followed up by the second email comfirming there was an error, so think it was a genuine error as I didn't get it, but we both play regularly.1
