I'm not remotely naive but I'm also not a legal expert and although I'm regularly in high pressure situations with work it's not personal. This situation is entirely personal! I've reached out to an employment solicitor to get some advice and I'll take it from there
Can we assume this is connected to your previous thread ? And if so how has it ended up at a tribunal with you self-representing ?

Long story short, I went through ACAS early conciliation to find out about the salary discrepancies and my male counterparts are on significantly more than I am. I'm not self representing at ET though.

You would still need to show that gender was the reason for the difference. The employer may try to argue that they are more experienced, better qualified or any number of other perfectly lawful reasons.

One that is often forgotten is the local job market at the time of recruitment. If there is a real shortage of suitably qualified candidates they may have to pay significantly more to get somebody. At another time, maybe a competitor has closed down, there may be any number of suitable people and they can offer far less.

Or of course it may be blatant gender discrimination which would be completely unlawful!

Thanks as ever for your input - there's a lot come out in the wash lately which on the surface makes it appear pretty blatant but I've passed everything over to the expert and they can help me decide on the best course of action.
