It looks like Barclays won't be charging for Premier Now, at least not at the moment.

I am sure nobody is planning to do this, but if someone lied about their income in order to open this account, and was found out, that could be grounds for having all Barclays account closed and possibly an entry in a fraud prevention database. So I would suggest not doing that (especially given the account is rubbish anyway...)

I've been a premier account holder for years never had free chocolates, free wine etc.  Must have been many many years ago.

I upgraded to this from my existing account. They haven’t sent me a black card, requested a new one and it’s showing in the app and it’s still blue. No biggie just don’t understand why they advertise a black card but don’t send one

This is annoying.I closed a bank account,or thought switch did it for me,then a year later I get a statement obviously with all zeros as no activity. Therefore if I try to switch when I think two years are up ( the usual criteria) I will be told I don't qualify as I still have an account. Even though I will not have used it for two years,obviously.  Has anyone experienced this and what can be done about it.

I just called them to request a new black card, I was told it involves a credit check?!!!! So I have a premier bank account but not that card, which is the only perk!!

told them to downgrade my account back to what it was

Nothing can be done - there must be a reason why it remained open - just close the account or better still switch it again for a new incentive.  If it makes you feel any better Barclays almost never has switching offers.

I didn’t get the black card either. When I called them to get it after six months of premier the first CS adviser told me she had ordered it for me and would be with me in 5 days etc. never arrived and when I phoned back they said that they couldn’t see any sign of an order. They tried to order it again but she said she couldn’t see the option and I should try asking in branch!!!

From what I can see the one ‘perk’ of this account is the upgraded withdrawal limit, they upgraded the account there and then (online) and when I called for a black card was told I needed a credit search?! Why, to withdraw more from a machine? Nah you’re ok I’ll save the stupid credit search.
