Complaint letter to financial ombudsman

Hi all,
I've reached the point of making a complaint to the financial ombudsman with regards to Lowell & Overdales Solicitors ref an account they have in my name.
I've made complaints to both (weeks ago tomorrow) stating that the account they have in my name is fraudulent & that Capital One have also confirmed this, but I still haven't received an answer or solution to the issue.
Does anyone have any advice on what I need to include in my letter, or are there any useful links for tips that might point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance 👍

Theres no need to write to them, you can do it all on their website which is much quicker and more reliable.2

You can only go to the FOS after you've received a final response/deadlock letter from the financial institute that you are complaining about or 8 weeks have passed since you logged the complaint.
To log a complaint with the FOS you do it on their website.
Its not clear why you are going to the FOS about a solicitors rather than the Legal Ombudsman or Law Society which typically deal with solicitors (they look at different types of accusations)
If the FOS is the correct ombudsman then dont expect anything to move quickly... having used their services several times the quickest ever was about 6 months for an initial decision, clearly its longer if the parties dont agree with adjudicator and it has to go to an Ombudsman... my worst case was over 2 years.1 -
Thanks for the replies guys, very helpful 😊
Sorry, my original post should have said it's "8 weeks tomorrow" that I first put the complaint in.
Annoying to know that it takes such a long time to get a decision from the ombudsman though!
It's more frustration than anything as Capital One have confirmed to me, via email, that the account was opened fraudulently in my name & that all records of it will be removed from my file. I've then spoken to both Lowell & Overdales who have done nothing about it since giving them this information & a copy of the email that Capital One sent me.0 -
I've made a few complaints and the timescales have been similar for me. The companies usually drag their feet as much as they possibly can when you complain about them, taking four weeks to respond to something the FOS investigator asked them for. I've had some very good outcomes though.
