How long are mortgage queries currently taking?

We were told over 2 weeks ago that our buyers of our buyers house have had to raise a query with their mortgage lender due to the title plan showing they have more garden than what is within their physical boundary (i.e. the fence). The solicitor reported this back to the mortgage lender and the mortgage lender has referred it back to the surveyor to hopefully confirm this won't affect the value for the mortgage offer.
On speaking to the estate agent today, they have spoken to the solicitors today and they still don't have any update from the mortgage lender and I'm starting to feel my patience wear thin.
I don't know which lender is involved but is it normal for these sorts of queries to take so long to resolve? I would have thought it'd be a quick yes/no from the valuer taking no more than a few days at most, but it's coming up to 3 weeks now.

@gazfocus Yes it is quite normal though exact timelines will differ based on lender, their processes, how this is routed, how busy they are, etc..
For example, the solicitor raises a query with the lender. It then sits in a queue somewhere at the lender waiting to be picked up. Once picked up the person who's reviewed it decides it needs to go to the valuer and pings it across to them, it then sits in a queue there, someone at the surveyor firm picks it up, processes it and returns it to the lender, it again sits in a queue etc etc, I hope you get the picture!
As an example, BOI has had very competitive rates for a good few weeks now so they were taking 2-3 weeks simply to pick up documents and process them. Platform was in the same situation a month or two ago.gazfocus said:We were told over 2 weeks ago that our buyers of our buyers house have had to raise a query with their mortgage lender due to the title plan showing they have more garden than what is within their physical boundary (i.e. the fence).
