So much changes at State Pension Age, it would be worth requesting a benefits review through one of the helpful charities like Age Concern. They will tell you if you're able to claim help with eye and dental charges, housing benefit and Council tax.
You shouldn't be paying NI on your remaining pay packets, you probably won't overpay tax if the overlap is a week or two.Fashion on the Ration

I am not entitled to SP
Do you mean PIP?
If your total income for the current tax year will be under £12,570 then you will not be liable for tax.
You should check your entitlement to Housing Benefit and help with Council Tax.
You are entitled to free prescriptions and may well qualify for HC2.
You will qualify for Winter Fuel Allowance.
You should also look into Social Tariff for water/mobile phone.

My mum is in a similar position, she worked for 50 years in manual/physical jobs. She retired at state pension age and has health conditions so is unable to work now, she has a full new state pension entitlement which she has been claiming since she turned 66 in 2020, and also a small local government pension of £76 per month. However, she also receives housing benefit so her rent is almost paid for, she receives winter fuel allowance and single person council tax discount, plus her bus pass; it’s not easy but she manages with this, so you may be better off than you think. Definitely worth looking at a benefits entitlement calculator to see what your situation may be.2

When my Dad went into a care home, Mum stayed in the warden-controlled flat.
As she had a reduced women's state pension, she qualified for Pension Credit and had never been so well off financially.
Free dental, rent/council tax paid etc.
When Dad died, her state pension was enhanced which took her over the PC limit.
As things stand, if you're not entitled to a benefit, you're not entitled.
There has to be a cut-off amount and some people will unfortunately fall the wrong side of the fence.
Good idea to check what any other benefits you might be entitled to.1
