Firstly, in the UK there is no such thing as a class action law suits so that's a bandwagon you cannot jump on

Secondly, be careful with no win, no fee schemes as advertised by @p00hsticks as history shows us that many are setup to create the bandwagon and more money is made from those that sign up and drop out than ever made from claiming from the defendant. Even on the above link they acknowledge in many cases it will be the scheme not Capita that is liable

Finally, understand what you are reading... the unsecure AWS cloud storage is totally independent to the hack, investigators looking into the later discovered the former but there is no evidence that anyone else had and it didn't contain PII anyway.
  • I have just received my second letter from Environment Agency Pension Fund, adding information about the Data "Exfiltration" from the Capita systems. It is worse that at first thought and data loss for me included - address, DOB, email address, Employment details and history, expression of wish details, gender, HMRC data, location data, marital status, name, NI number, Area postcode, Postcode, Spouse details, bank details, pension amounts and history, Salary, Sexuality!!
Currently all that they offer is an apology and a 1 year free subscription to Experian Identity Plus - clearly not long enough as this will affect me for years to come.  They also ask me to take actions to monitor for and guard against fraud / scams etc across all of my activities!  I see that Legal firms are already being approached for Class Action legal suits.

I am apalled by their lack of appreciation of the effect this has on what are vulnerable pensioners (many not IT competent).  I for one am already suffering from worry / anxiety over the potential effect of this on the rest of my life.
