Anyone know what tax code s1617l means? When I do a search for it online nothing comes up?

The S means your a Scottish tax payer, the 1617 means your tax free personal allowance is £16170 & the L is a normal tax code ending.
Have you overpaid tax in a previous year or years? That could explain the larger than normal personal allowance.
