Critical illness cover - is it worth it?

I remember getting the sales pitch for a good 40 minutes from the broker about the CI cover even though I had already told him I wasn't interested. The quote I got from them was nearly triple what I could get with the exact same provider myself so if you want it certainly shop around.
On a side note even though i refused it the broker still put it through as i agreed and i spent a month convincing the company i didn't. Now the same broker is contacting me if i want to use them for my re-mortgage, don't think so...0
