Shall I take my bonus all at once or spread it out?

Options
Help please: being taxed at 40% for the bonus is painful which has been the case in the past, I work hard to earn my bonus but to be taxed at 40% is like a robbery.
I've been given the options to have it paid for next month's payroll or spread out over 12 months, Would appreciate some advice please

It'll make very little difference - 85% of it will hit this tax year, which is all that matters.

That's what I thought, but in the meantime (also a question from another thread) I'm exploring the salary sacrifice to invest into my pension, just all seems so complicated

If you can afford to invest it into your pension (40% tax relief!) then that's the very best financial decision you can make.
