I am looking to finish work due to ill heath, by doing so by my calculations this will leave me 4 years short of full contributions. Is it possible to pay for these 4 years so that if and when I reach state pension age it will be the maximum pension??

Yes, you will be able to make up years missed. You can't pay in advance though.0

Have you got a state pension forecast, to see what you need to maximise your pension?
Check your State Pension forecast - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The wording isn't the best, we see a lot of people confused by the information they receive, but there are some people here with detailed knowledge who will help if you have any questions.0 -
And some ill health benefits provide NI credits.

What exactly does your state pension forecast show?
When do you reach SPA?
Will you be retiring with an immediate pension?
Will you be receiving any DWP ill health benefit and if so which?0
