@ispookie666 might have a view about Givenergy products.

The priority should be to find the essential things you want to run.

I have an AC-coupled GivEnergy inverter with a max output of 2600VA.  The EPS/Backup goes via a Contactor (installed by my installer) to supply the Garage and lights.  I extended this to some sockets in the house.  When the grid is present, the grid supplies the Garage, lights and the EPS sockets; when the grid is down, the EPS kicks in, and the contactor switches those circuits from Grid to EPS.
We have had a few short power cuts since installation and one which lasted a few hours.  The EPS kicks in as it should when the grid goes down.

I had initially hoped the solar would be wired to continue production during power cuts, but unfortunately, not.  I presume this might be due to very different frequencies from the grid and EPS resulting in inverters shutting down hence not worth wiring up.

I'm told by someone who  has a Tesla battery, and by one of the local installers, that solar will continue to generate (or restart) when on backup.

This should also work with most hybrid inverters (albeit @Reed_Richards has previously reported that, if his battery goes flat, the system won't cold-start from solar). However @ispookie666 has:

An AC-coupled battery storage inverter is not necessarily able to convince a grid-tied solar inverter that it's connected to the grid.

I've never actually tested this but that is what the inverter manual says.  My battery is DC coupled and I presume my inverter only runs on AC.

Huawei inverter with backup box will continue to use solar and battery in the event of a power cut. Tested at installation, but not had the need to use yet.

We’ve got the gas contractors lining supply pipes in the area and yes their spades cut through the electricity cables. My Huawei system switched over seamlessly.
