Mp3 players - should I be worried about non-removable batteries

Hello,
Having purchased a Creative Zen Micro 5GB (with removable battery) a couple of years ago, I'm looking to purchase another mp3 player with larger GB storeage (20GB - 80GB).
I'm interested in purchasing the iPod but I'm put off by the fact that the battery is not removable - is this something I should be worried about? Has anyone encountered a problem with Mp3 players without a removable battery, and how long can the Mp3 player last for until the battery eventually dies out?
