Outgoing Octopus

We have solar panels, installed 10/10/2011, we have our MCS certificate and have been receiving FIT payments from EDF who were our suppliers at the time , with payment for 50% deemed export.
Last November we had SMETS 2 Smart meters installed, and recently moved our supplier to Octopus.
We would like to move our export to Fixed Outgoing Octopus, but we do not have this letter from our DNO that they are asking for. DNO was notified (Scottish Power) but we think this was done by our installer. After 12 years, things are a little hazy!
We have explained this to Octopus, but they want us to sign up on line, but their computer will not accept our submission as we have no DNO letter. So we are going round in circles.
Where do we go from here? Can we get this letter they want?

It’s normally a very brief email rather than anything too formal looking. If you contact your DNO they should be able to send you some confirmation to forward to Octopus.Smart Tech Specialist with Octopus Energy Services (all views my own). 4.44kW SW Facing in-roof array with 3.6kW Givenergy Gen 2 Hybrid inverter and 9.5kWh Givenergy battery. 9kW Panasonic Aquarea L (R290) ASHP. #gasfree since July ‘231

Thanks, I have contacted Scottish Power, they put me through to some special department who would see about issuing an export MPAN .........but none of their choices of press 1 for.......seemed appropriate, then they cut me off.I am now back in discussion by phone with Octopus who are trying to find out what we should do next.
Although we have a pile of paperwork from EDF, the only letter we have is from EDF, and this confirms that "your generator has now been fully accredited with OFGEM". Perhaps this would be sufficient?0 -

The requirement is a bit circular. Octopus wants confirmation that your DNO has approved your installation before applying for an export MPAN. Many of the original installations were legally carried out but the installer never informed the DNO as it was required to do. The DNO will only issue an Export MPAN if your installation is known to it.1 -
Thanks. Yes, it was all done correctly at the time (October 2011) and we have the EDF 25 year FIT contract, and their letter as mentioned above.
Still waiting to hear back from Octopus as to what more proof, if any, they need to apply for an export MPAN. We do have the MCS certificate.
The person at SP, who put me through to another department, did say they would need to issue an export MPAN, perhaps I should contact them again. Do not want to do anything that might confuse the issue!0 -

The export MPAN gives the supplier access to the export side of your smart meter. Without it, Octopus cannot access export data.

If it's just a case of 'computer says no' from the form on the website, perhaps just write a covering letter with the existing MPAN and a note explaining the situation, save it as a pdf and submit that? The form won't know the difference and hopefully the human who eventually deals with it with respond appropriately.
