Good morning folks - it's been a while since I started the thread.
Yesterday I noticed that my beautiful rose bush at my front door had not only lots of buds but huge numbers of green fly 😱 so I buzzed into town to buy a spray bottle. Once I'd filled it with soapy water I used it everywhere on my precious roses. The bottle only shoots out a single stream which is a bit rubbish, I need to get one which actually sprays a mist. That'll be for today.
I'd ordered a trial box of bamboo and recycled cardboard toilet rolls, tissues and kitchen roll which arrived in the early afternoon. It's interesting stuff which is actually very soft. I'll test them out later.
This morning I'm heading down to Glasgow as I've a couple of chores to sort out. On the way I'm meeting up with the lovely Camelot for breakfast 🎉 think that we're trying a different place this time. I'll write more about Seoul later, especially about the giant pink bear and it's smaller 'cousins'.
Meanwhile, happy Saturday to all.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, see you in a while.
After a really warm day yesterday it's overcast and dull this morning, there's been a bit of overnight rain but not really enough to water the garden properly.
DS2 and DP are over seeing the Grandparents, DD and family are going to meet them then going on for a week's caravan holiday in the Borders. DS2 wanted his kilt to try on so I had to rush home, go into the loft (which was about 300 degrees!) get the kilt and take it back to DD. Bit of a rush but I did get my dinner there - really tasty.
Didn't manage to sweep the drive but that can wait, I think we're due some good weather next week so I'll sweep and re-sand then.
I've been up since silly o'clock so the bathrooms and kitchen have had a clean and the living room dusted, will throw the hoover about later, don't want to wake the neighbours.
Allotment is high on my agenda this morning once I've had breakfast with Gers, lots to plant out and some weeding to do then I must clean the windows downstairs, I seem to have splattered mess all over with the jetwash!
Hope you all have a good weekend, take care. XX9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers, hope you enjoy a nice breakfast and chat with Camelot.
It's dry and sunny, quite a change from the grey skies and chilly breezes that often greet us in the mornings.
We have no particular plans for today, I should sew a bit really. Those cushion covers show no signs of making themselves so I'll have to help them. Actually I like doing stuff like that, bolster cushion covers are a bit different.
I managed to speak to a Dr yesterday and she sent me a prescription so I've started the new tablets. Hope these knock it on the head completely.
Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.10 -
Good morning allWas in the garden yesterday afternoon for a while but that wind was quite cold so came in and just couldn't get warm so had to resort to putting the heating on to get warm. It's nearly June!!!!Booked an optician's appointment a month ago and today was the nearest date I could have. Then on Thursday they rang to cancel grrrrr I'm desperate to get some new glasses after my cateract op and noticed that another well known opticians had just opened a branch nearer to me so managed to get an appt yesterday so in 2 weeks time I will hopefully not have to squint at books, newspapers and backs of jars and tins etc to try and read them!!Looks like the sun will shine a bit more today so will attempt the garden again without getting frostbite.Looking forward to your tales of Seoul Gers.Have a good day all x9

Morning..Kempscott Manor was lovely, very helpful people in every room to explain things or ask questions of, I didn't know he didn't own the manor, he just rented it, his wife bought it after he died. I paid for the tickets, friend paid for lunch, falafel, very nice and also lovely toilets. Lovely countryside setting, very peaceful village, saw some plants I want now but that is always true no matter where I go..Stopped in a GC on the way back, bought some reduced price plants and soem seeds, stopped for a cup of tea before coming home. Then the thunderstorm struck so I fell asleep on the sofa for a bit. Today there is a local plant sale, and we're out tonight with friends for a local pub reopening. No other plans today except sow some seeds
and take my current cup of tea for a walk around the front garden. Someone was selling their house and put a load of succulents on their front wall to give away, obviously they're not taking them with them, so I snaffled a few and have put split some of them to put in between the clay tiles in the front.
Enjoy breakfast Gers and camelot! Scarlet, glad you got your antis hope they help soon. Coxy, you've got a peripatetic weekend, good luck with the to-ing and fro-ing...Live octopus? Eww! mehefin, sounds like your town is on the up. Gers, not sure I could do the pigs feet. If I was starving, probably, or if I'd been brought up eating them probably, but flabby fat or gelatinous lumps make my stomach heave. dp1, she's very lucky, I'd love to go there, it always looks fantastic, whether thats in the cities or in the countryside..go her! Take care all, look out, it's nearly summer...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8 -
Morning everyone
I woke at 7 with the ping of my phone - eldest DD sending me a photo of a dish of noodles....so she's in Tokyo!
I put a podcast on and fell asleep again and just woke again at 9.30 - I feel shattered today. Just got some ironing to do this morning then I might sit outside and read as it's lovely and sunny. Then I'm stewarding at our local theatre this afternoon for an amateur production of Sunshine on Leith - which I'm looking forward to. I'm planning on going into town half an hour earlier than I need to to have a look in the charity shops.
I'd better move myself - hope everyone has a good day today.

Afternoon all was up early as my landscaper text to say he will be here on Tuesday to start the garden so i had to speak to a neighbour so they will move their 3 cars from the side of our house as he will need side access and he has a truck with large trailer honestly she kept questioning me did i need the whole side in the end i pointed out you are parked over my side gate and i wouldn't want your car damaged . DH has removed a small tree that he said he would and tomorrow we will be filling the garage with garden bits after we go to a boot fair to look for some garden toys for DGS
