Missing child support payment

On behalf of my other half…

got an email from CMS last month string they hadn’t received a payment from child’s father and therefor she wouldn’t be getting any money that month. Contacted child’s father via child who stated it has come out of his wages and has payslip showing this, no reason to disbelieve him and he is trying to find out where the money is - cms say they didn’t receive it.

any idea on how to proceed with this as just hitting a brick wall with cms?

    Presumably it'll just be recorded as arrears on the account and father will be pursued for payment so feels like it's probably down to him to follow it up with CMS?
