are cost-co changing their return policy?

i was surprised to see a new sign up at my local costco saying 'it would be helpful' if things were returned within 30 days, in original packaging and with receipt.
they have always been so good about returns- one reason i like to shop there.
the old sign had a much longer time scale and consumer oriented wording. just wondered if anyone knows if this is in preparation for a change in policy?
