Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dry underfoot, forecast is for mainly dry day. Got a line of washing to peg out shortly.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was ham, boiled egg, jacket poato with cheese and beans, side salad - a use up of bits from the fridge.
Normal chores to do, short week next and the following one - looking forward to that.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Thanks for the start nmlc, I too am looking forward to two more 4 day weeks!
Dry and sunny this morning, two wash loads are on the line and should be ready to put away when I get home.
Jet washing out the front is finished - taff I wish I was eaking it out but it's quite a large area and don't like to go past 7pm as it will annoy the neighbours and my back gets sore if I do too much. I'll sweep it all later and re-sand some time. Glad that's done.
Happy holidays TA, hope the weather is good to you.
Get well soon Floss.
How exciting Scarlet and Carolbee, wonderful to be missing most of our winter weather.
Friday at last, hopefully I get the early finish I should have but there's so much going on I may be later. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all.Cloudy here with a promise of a clear day. Yesterday I only had three students sitting Advanced Higher Modern Studies which lasted three hours. By the time I arrived home my washing was dry, after I dealt with it I made a large egg salad (not large eggs, large salad with eggs!) and caught up with a few recorded TV programmes. The GP rang to talk me through the clinical letter from my hospital visit at the end of April then I had another call from the surgery to make a physio appointment. It's for bank holiday Monday, they must be trying to catch up.Most of the Korean food was challenging for me. They eat a lot of pigs feet, pig knuckles, and eel all with various spicy dips. On our first evening there we had pork belly cooked over hot coals which I enjoyed very much. The grill was closed over the coals and the meat put on top. Only greens was lettuce with sesame dressing, tasty enough. Stainless steel chopsticks are now the norm, much thinner and trickier to use than good old-fashioned wooden or plastic ones. 😀There were plenty of Western type food places though I only succumbed once. My favourite was the final evening feast of three types of Korean fried chicken - plain, garlic and sticky, again only dips and no vegetables.I'm writing this on my iPad in bed so it may turn out wonky, I'll edit it once dressed. No real plans for today, I've got a bit of a cough so won't be too active.Thoughts to our poorlies. Happy Friday to all.11

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's a bit of a gloomy start here, damp and grey. It must have rained during the night.
Jet washing is so satisfying isn't it Camelot, though the noise is shattering, I know. Hope you get an early finish.
I spent yesterday afternoon on the cushion covers for dil's mum, they are small bolster covers, so a bit different. The fabric frays badly, it's a tapestry type stuff, so I spent the afternoon rubbing fray stop glue round the edges of all the pieces. I was going to make the piping cord, but another bladder infection has kicked off so I couldn't be bothered really. All the pieces are cut out and ready to sew anyway.
I'm going to ring the Drs this morning.
I'm supposed to be visiting 2 elderly friends this morning, but I must get some anti b's for this infection before it really takes hold.
Sorry to be such a moaner.
Carolbee, hope your Australian plans go smoothly, we spent nearly a whole day sitting in front of the computer, but it's all sorted bar the overnight stop.
We've got hard copies of everything as well, Dh was all printered out yesterday.
I met up with a friend yesterday morning, they are going to put their house up for sale, they feel it's too big for them now. She's talking about buying a 2 bedroom bungalow. I hope they can get what they want.
Hope everyone has a good day today. Izzy, congrats on the weight loss, and hope your little dog hasnt woken you at ridiculous o'clock this morning.
Take care folks, enjoy your day.

Morning all from a sunny Mehefinland
Haven't posted for a while and much has been happening, although mostly chore related!!
Went to a Civic service in our local church Sunday last. It was the first for many years but the current council chairman is keen to re-instate them and raise the profile of our rapidly growing village. The forecast is that we have a bigger population than our local market town in 2-3 years with none of the facilities!
Been potting on loads of seedlings for the plant sale at our community library. Its a self funded library in that the LA provides the books and the computer links, and we do the rest i.e.utilities, maintainance etc. and volunteers to run it. So every penny counts.
Horses have farrier this afternoon so another wodge of cash gone. Showman is having the 'back lady' on Monday too as he seems to have a problem. Hopefully she can sort him.
Grass is growing like fury ,as are all the weeds. There seem to be much more of them this spring, unless I haven't been as diligent lol.
The apostrophe key on this laptop is not functioning correctly and the space bar is going the sameway.
Hugs and spoons as always.. at least the weather has perked up a bit here

Morning everyone, thanks nmlc for starting.I had quite a lazy day really, pottering in the garden after a quick visit to Morries where I picked up some geraniums. Made my usual weekly call to a friend who isn't in the best of health, and a phone call from DH to tell me we didn't have to pick DGS up. Missed his chatter but they called in the evening after football training & we have been designated to take him to Tes co to meet up with DS to have their hair cut there.I have decided to have a bus trip to Bury Market, it's been quite a while since my last visit. Shame it's rainy and misty so I might get the more direct route and hope it clears so I can come home by the scenic route!Good to see you Mehefin. sounds like your village is in for some big changes.I did lamb chops for myself and DH last night as DS1 was out at a bbq and isn't keen. Might pick up something at the market for tonight.Gers the meals sounded interesting!Scarlet hope you feel better soon once the antibios kick in.Glad you got the power washing done Camelot!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all been absent for a few days as have been looking after DGS at DD2's house the journey there and back was a bit of a nightmare but the M25 is always so unpredictable today i am home and hopefully they are coming to repair my windscreen as i got a chip from stones on the said road well i actually got hit by 4 or 5 so luckily it was just a chip.
Gers lovely to have you back hope all went well at the wedding and oh boy the food is spicy in that part of the world we always had european heat in our food but it still left our lips tingling
Mehefin sounds like most towns and villages now with less services and more people but nice that you can celebrate your village
TA enjoy the holiday hope the weather is good for you and Sparkle
Carolbee how exciting we are looking at Aus and New Zealand when DH retires in a few years hoping to pick a cruise up to do it all in one hit but i will need various stops on the flight over as the 13 hrs from Thailand showed me i need to plan better as i get older
Right better get on i still haven't caught up with things so its a cleaning day for me .Have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe and i hope the sun is shinning where you are xx

Morning everyone
It's a lovely sunny morning here, with the same forecast for the weekend - hope it's right.
Gers - I would have struggled with pigs feet and eel too but it will have been fascinating to see a different culture.
Eldest DD texted me earlier to tell me she was eating a croissant in Paris airport. Last I heard from her was about half an hour ago when she'd just got on the plane to Tokyo....shes very very excited.
I got some reduced plants from Homebase on Wednesday so finished putting them in yesterday - 12 plants for £12 - they all just needed a good drink and had outgrown their pots.
I'll go down to mam and dads soon to do dads banking then done to work at lunchtime.
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Hi everyone,
Coxy, when I was a child in Lancashire most of the people walking or cycling from LE to JoG or vice versa used to pass by our house. I remember that the horrible Fix-it man did it a couple of times, not that we knew how horrible he was at the time.
Mehefin, good to hear from you again, I hope the back problem can be sorted out not too expensively.
Scarlet, boo to the infection, get well soon.
dp1, Japan is Laura's favourite country and she's been to a lot. I'm sure your daughter will have a wonderful time, even if she is working.
Gers, I don't think I'd do very well in Korea, my stomach rebels at too much meat and very spicy food, it would be a good crash diet.
I must go I want to make some cake for Crystal, her favourite cherry cake with lots of buttercream and I want to make some savoury breakfast muffins for me.
Have a good day.

Morning all...Just got the washing in and put the magic cupboard on. I'm taking my friend out to see William Morris's house and gardens today, she's still off with stress, don't blame her either.. It's a mystery trip for her, haven't told her where we're going until we get there..If she doesn't like it, I'll kill her...Nah, she loves gardening and pretty things so we'll be OK...Take care all, have a lovely day if you can...
