Family and friends railcard – add extra adult on second ticket?

We are travelling in July on our F and F railcard, and have already bought advance tickets for two adults and four children. We now have an extra adult who wants to join us on the day. My reading of the Ts and Cs on the railcard website is that he can buy a railcard fare ticket as long as he buys the same advance tickets as us and travels with us on the day. Can anyone please confirm from personal experience whether I have interpreted this correctly? Thanks.

You would probably need to do this at a ticket office as no online systems will sell an F&F discounted ticket without a child ticket in the same transaction.

But shouldn't be an issue at a friendly ticket office I don't think.

Many thanks, plenty enough time to try this out before July.
