Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dry underfoot, forecast is for mainly dry day. Got a line of washing to peg out shortly.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was chicken in sauce with egg and veg fried rice. Tonight will be a clear up night from the fridge and store cupboard.
Work was ok yesterday and I got done the jobs I needed to get done.
Last day at work today until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your days off.
Well done on the weight loss Izzy.
Welcome back Gers, look forward to hearing all about your trip.
It's rained overnight but not much, glad I called at the allotment and gave everything a good watering. Cracked on with the jet washing, hoping to get it finished tonight.
The P7 children got away with no problems yesterday and seem to be having a ball. Hope it stays dry for them again today. As expected some of the younger ones decided they would step up and cause trouble, two were sent home for their bad language.
Hope you're all well and have a good day. Take care. XX9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Enjoy your days off.
It's a cool grey start here, with a chilly breeze, still, it's not raining.
For a while now our Ds1 in Australia has been asking when we are going to visit, so after another conversation with them last week it was decided that we'll go in December for 6 weeks.
Yesterday we booked flights, arranged insurance, and applied for visas , they were granted almost immediately. Thank heavens for technology. It still all took most of the day, and we've spent an eye watering amount of money!
Still, we have 3 grandsons there that we haven't seen for a few years, and this will probably be the last time we go.
It will be a warm Christmas for us as well, we are so excited.
We still have to book an overnight hotel in Dubai, but that's easy enough
Not much else was done yesterday except the usual tidying and a bit of washing.
I'm meeting a friend this morning for coffee and chat.
Hope you are resting and recovering from your travels Gers.
Sorry, it's been all about me this morning, but hoping everyone is all right and has a good day today.I
Take care folks.9 -
Morning folks. What exciting news to wake up to Scarlet - your Australia trip will be wonderful, especially in the height of summer. Even though I went last year (and won't go any more) I'm slightly jealous.
Well done on getting on with it all at once.
My trip was easy and lovely. After some struggles with my mobility, especially in the big airports, I booked wheelchair assistance for each of the legs and what relief it was. Emirates organised it all with their ground service companies which worked so well apart from at Glasgow which was a shambles - again! I'll be writing a email to the OCS group there. Anyway, it all helped me get to Seoul without too much pain or bother. The hotel was more than adequate without being fab! The Korean ones are rather different from the western brands but not in a bad way. Six of us were in The Splaisir Dongdaemun with one other in a Novotel nearby. The upsides of the room were the heated toilet seat, the lights all on a touch board by the door and bed and the really big shower room with supplies of toiletries on squeezy bottles on the walls. Downside was the lack of tea / coffee / milk or even a teaspoon. Two tea bags, two coffee bags and once they were gone they were gone. Just odd, but we bought more at the 24 hour e-mart next door. The staff were very good, helpful and understanding.I'll write more later, I'm doing an invigilation session first thing this morning so need to get myself sorted out. I've a quick wash in the machine which I want to get out on the line before I leave.Happy Thursday to everyone.

Morning all, thanks nmlc.I was absent yesterday, had a hectic day.First I went to watch DGS in his class assembly,DH dropped me but he and DS1 were busy so he couldn't stay. The performance was lovely, they were allowed a few minutes after with family members, then his DMum ran me part of the way home, she felt bad cos she couldn't take me all the way but had to get to work. It didn't matter , I called in the nearby As da and walked home after.Once home I made a shepherds pie for the mens tea so it was quick to heat up once we got back from the school run. Then a quick lunch before my cousin came & we visited another cousin who isn't very well and his wife is away. I had about 10 minutes to let pooch out etc. then back up to schoolGers sounds like a succesful trip, glad you had a good time.Scarlet, your Aussie trip is certainly something to look forward to and you'll miss some winter weather!DH & I have ordered some shrubs for the back garden,we lost quite a few over winter.I'm planning a fairly quiet day, hope you all have a good one x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Wonderful news @ScarletRibbons - glad it was easy to get everything booked!
Your hotel sounds lovely @Gers but OMG to the lack of tea and coffee. We found that when we were on our JoGLE walk - hotels and bnbs really vary. The best was Premier Inn where there was a supplies table in the reception.
Lovely you could go to DGS class assembly @RosyRed - I can't wait to have grandchildren and do the same. Will be a few years yet I reckon
What DDad forgets is that he is a migrant @-taff unbelievable!!
WFH today and we have an all staff call about staff cuts this afternoon. I am already privy to information about % due to my job so no surprises for me. Just need to see how it all plays out. DMum and her dog are coming to stay later as DDad and DMum are off to Kew tomorrow - have been divorced 40 years (and he had been remarried for 36 years) but they still get on which is nice.
Dinner tonight is diet cola chicken with rice - another SW favourite.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's a bit cloudy just now but forecast to improve. Yesterday it felt lovely wandering round Skipton in the warm sunshine. It was almost a shame to go indoors for our lunch!
Today I must put my industrious head on as I have a lot to do. Kitchen and bathroom to clean and a quick dash around with duster and vac upstairs and down. Then some clothes to pack for my little caravan trip and, most important, food to sort out ready to pack up in the morning. And mustn't forget I have a gammon joint in the fridge ready to cook later. That should keep me going in one way or another over the w/e.
GERS I am looking forward to the next instalment! SCARLET ooh exciting news from you. How lovely it will be to escape a chunk of our cold weather.
I may not get on here in the morning and as there is still no wifi at the site I doubt I will post much on my phone. But I will still read along. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all and have a good day xx

Morning all
Bright and sunny here and looks to be a lovely day 😃 I’m off to collect my private client and take him to work, he has not been for two weeks due to Illness so he will be excited ! I am going to pop into Tesco on the way home to look at t-shirts for my holiday.
Low carving is going well I will wait till next week to weigh myself I did order some carb free wine yesterday as I really miss wine and crisps but I can’t find an alternative to them but glad I found some wine 😬
Pork chops for dinner tonight with some veg for me and chips for OH, dd is doing a sleep in so she gets fed at work.
Scarlet how exciting to see your family again and you will miss a chunk of winter xx
Gers lovely to see you back xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning all..I'm up too early but never mind, the washing is on, the bed was changd last night, I'm dressed [ I always count that as an achievement] and I'm planning to go to the windows place today to pay the deposit in person. I don't like the idea of paying a few thousand to someone I can't see, don't know if I got the numbers right etc. It's not too far away and I can have a little coutnryside drive, maybe a stop off on the way back. I'm really pleased witht he front garden at the moment, I've sown or planted things to cover all the bare earth if it all grows, the sage twigs I accidentally broke off, I pushed into the soil in a different place and they have rooted, there's some surrpise spearmint poppping up and the lillies will be huge this year. I normally take a cup of tea out there and pat myself on the back...Haven't cut down the two pencil cypresses yet though, thought I'd ask the tree surgeons to do that when they do the big tree.Gers, love hearing about your travels [ and anyone else's travels..] but shame about the coffee and tea..Most of the airports sound on the ball though, kudos for organisation..camelot, are you dragging the jetwashing out on purpose to play more? don't blame you...Scarlet, that will be a trip to remember, sounds lovely! Izzy, aww bless her, hope you got sleep last night...Rosy, I didn't even know that was a thing, glad you got to go and see him. Coxy , my mother was the same, she really took to her adopted country
and nice that they both still get on..TA, enjoy the holiday away/! Ruby, what about the lea and lentil snacks they sell in lidl and aldi? any good? Take care all, it's a lovely day here, hope it's the same with you all...

Hi everyone,
Scarlet, how exciting and how much easier it is to do all these things with the internet, it would have taken weeks with snail mail and visiting travel agents etc. Steve and I saw an old fashioned travel agents in Ilkley last week, with all the cards in the window advertising holidays. I don't suppose there are too many like that around nowadays.
Gers, well done on arranging the wheelchairs, airports can be so daunting if you've got mobility issues. We noticed that Stanstead had a lot of wheelchairs in the car parks when I dropped Laura and the children off the other week, in fact I took one for Esben because his little legs were flagging, it made life much easier for all of us.
Steve is golfing again today, third time in as many days, he usually does Tuesdays and Thursdays with his golfing buddies but when Chris wanted to play yesterday there was no way he would have refused.
I want to do some freezer consolidation and also some sewing today. The garden is starting to look reasonable again so I will try to spend some time out there as well.
Have a good day.9
