Newbie here seeking advice for my wife. We have failed to get through to the Pension Centre and hope the experts on this board can provide advice, The facts I think you need are as follows;
1. My wife reached SPA in July 2021 and started receiving her pension at that time.
2.As at July 2021 we cannot be certain of the amount she received but bank statements show receipt of £656.84 per month which equates to £7882 per annum or £151.58 per week.
3. For the current year my wife receives £745.52 every 4 weeks equating to £186.38 per week.
4. Her National Insurance record states she has 4 full years up to 5/4/1975 and 32 full years up to 5/4/2016 and no full years after this point.
5. From 5/4/16 tax year her NI record states she needs to pay £824.2 for each tax year to top up with the exception of 2020 tax year which is £795.6o
6. My wife has not been contracted out for any period although since starting a family in 1985 she never returned to work but received NI credits as shown on her NI records.
I believe she is 3 years short of full contributions and am proposing to pay £824.2 for years 2018-2019 and 2019-20 and £795.6 for 2020-2021.As we cannot get through to the Pension Centre we are proposing to send off a cheque in the post without any 18 digit code.
We hope somebody can offer advice based upon the above. Many thanks.

At £186.38 per week she is indeed 3 years short of the max and what you intend to do is the way forward. Your figure for 21-22 would be per 4 weeks so £164.21 per week which does equate to £186.38 today.

Many thanks for taking time to respond. I thought my wife would be ok taking this course of action but it is good to have your reassurance.0
