Home Renovation

Hi,

I read on the net that it may be possible to claim tax on home minor repairs and renovations.

However, I am not able to find anywhere on the tax return to claim it.

Could you please let me know how to claim this (if it can be claimed)?

You can only claim a proportion of your expenses in respect of your home if it is used in your business, or if you meet the working from home criteria for employment, and you choose to claim actual expenses rather than the simplified expenses (for self employment) or the £6 a week WFH allowance (for employment).

Which part of their home renovation, as an employee, do you think they incurred while performing their duties of employment?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

I am not talking about using a home for my business. I saw it in several links such as the one below but could not find anything on the HMRC website or tax return:

I could imagine a small repair being necessary for the employment, but it was for the sake of completeness.
