At 6/4/16 and with 22 qualifying years, his starting amount was the higher of
Old Rules
22/30 x £119.30 + (Additional State Pension - (if applicable), deduction for contracting out)
£87.08 + (Additional State Pension - (if applicable) "COD".
New Rules
(22/35 x £155.65) - (if applicable) Contracted Out Pension Equivalent.
£97.83 - (if applicable) COPE.
Is your father in receipt of an occupational/private pension that was contracted out of the state scheme?
