Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Damp underfoot, forecast is for mainly dry day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, some LO's they will be tomorrow night's dinner. Tonight we'll be having smoked sausage pasta in a creme fraiche sauce.
Back to work - will see what sort of state things are in when I get there this morning.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Bright and sunny this morning, hope it stays that way as there's washing going out in a minute.
Lots of garden jobs were done yesterday, I've tomato plants everywhere and taking some into work today for folk. The driveway is coming along nicely, a couple more sessions should see it scraped out then the pressure washer can get an outing. Once that's done it will be the decking to clean and treat.
Hope everyone is well and has had a good weekend, must dash! Take care. XX9 -
Morning everyone and thanks for starting us off nlmc.
I am off to the cinema with friends this morning to seeThe Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry
Hope you all have a super Monday.7 -
Morning all I am feeling better after a 12 hour marathon sleep i seemed to have hit the ground running after holiday as DS bike needed new tyres so i needed to take him to work then collect him and take him to his key holder job then race backup the M25 to Windsor to collect DGS and have him till yesterday lunchtime i am now taking a breath and trying to regroup my thoughts I am on babysitting duty Wednesday and Thursday this week so will be staying there as its only one night .
I am hoping i can shake this cold i picked up on the plane coming home that was the worst part of the holiday 13 hours I feel that i will be looking to break any long haul flights in future when DH retires . The weather was very hot up to 114 some days so sightseeing was limited so i would like to go back to Bangkok to see more we did a street food tour which was really good and visited Wat Arun and Wat Po as well as the umbrella train market and a floating market Hotel was lovely we had a swim up room and not having to think about what to have for dinner for 2 weeks was wonderful
Right todays chores include getting quotes for contents insurance and also car insurance as they are due and catching up on some housework dinner tonight sausage and mash
Have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe warm and dry xxSlava Ukraini10 -
Good morning
It's bright and sunny here too, hope it's set for the day.
I haven't posted since our return from our holiday in the
Scottish borders (it seems ages ago)
I haven't been well with a bladder infection which just would not go away, sorry if tmi.
Anyway this latest course of anti b's seems to be working, I'm finally pulling myself together.
I must read back, hope everyone is all right.
Have a good day whatever you've got planned, take care folks10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The sun is shining and set to remain all day but the warmth of Saturday has now gone. Sounds a good holiday BELLA despite the hot weather. Just after you left I read there was a heatwave in Thailand and thought of you.
I ended up with youngest DGD yesterday after my post and although she isn't a bit of bother not a lot else got done for the rest of the day (other than the constant supply of food) So today I must try harder, the neverending weeds in the front garden are now rampant so must psych myself up for a few stints out there.
Vets this afternoon for Sparkle. He wanted her back in a month and this time her allergy isn't looking too bad but I suppose it will be an injection anyway before it takes off. Poor Sparkle I don't think she will ever get used to being bundled in the carrier without a struggle.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all
Dull and overcast here but the sun is due out later, I have one lady coming today and we are meeting up with another carer and her client, we will go for a walk around the lake and have a picnic and then a cuppa in the cafe there.
I have decided to low carb from today to see if that will help with weight loss I have put more on since my hysterectomy and ovary removal I suppose it’s the lack of hormones ? I am finding it very hard to lose any weight I think your body changes a lot during menopause.
Im going to have some egg and bacon for breakfast, I have made a frittata and salad for lunch and salmon and veggies for dinner tonight, I know within two days I shall be craving bread and potatoes but will give it a go.
OH is off work with a bad back so the dogs can stay here today, hopefully he will walk them later.
Bella and Scarlett good to see you back xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Hi everyone,
We're home after a lovely break in Yorkshire. We walked from Leyburn to Bolton Castle on Saturday which was about 6.5 miles so I was pleased because I'm not fully recovered still. This was on top of a half mile jog when we found we were waiting for the bus to Leyburn in the wrong place. Luckily it was all downhill and even more lucky the bus was running a few minutes late.
Apart from a Sunday brunch fry up I did no cooking. We decided that as we should have been in Spain we would treat ourselves to meals out. We tried some new places a revisited a place we hadn't been for several years. It was useful because we recommend places to our guests and will only do that if we really like the place ourselves.
Chris and Crystal are back from Rome today, they seem to have had a good time which is good because I know Crystal was a bit worried about going abroad with Nate. Laura and Brian have decided to stay in Wales for a few more days because Esben isn't well enough to go back to nursery yet. Laura messaged to say she had found a chicken pox blister on Esther's foot last night, hopefully it will be a mild dose.
Have a good day.
PS Scarlet, I hope the antibiotics continue to work, it's the most miserable ailment isn't it.10 -
Morning everyone
Bella, Scarlet and Snoozer good to hear you've all enjoyed your holidays.
The sun is shining here this morning and meant to last all day so that's good.
I'm back to work at lunch time - not really looking forward to it as I'm aching all over. My feet are really painful just now - the nerves are damaged due to long covid - I'll message my doctor but I'm sure I asked last time they were this painful and there was nothing she could recommend other than rest.
I have a few jobs to do so I'd better move myself. Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all! Sunny again! Got rid of a few bits yesterday to someones rabbits but will reclutter later with some cookbooks from freecycle. Will stop off at a friends for a quick catch up after i fetch them.Other than that and some routine housework stuff, no plans today. I've been looking at recycling clay and roof tiles on the net and usually it's the same old stuff but I found some more on pinterest so I'm going to try my best not to be sucked in too much. There are some seriously cool constructions, especially in bug hotel walls, or raised beds or edging especially it seems in the Netherlands. It took that plant sale yesterday and some gardening reading over the last week and looking at the recycling stuff for me to see just how much I don't know and now will never know and also never experiment with. I cooked a chicken I got cheaper yesterday because there was a hole in the packet so that's to go with some salad and stuff today. OH is lates so eh won't be partaking anyway.snoozer, welcome back,
glad you had a nice time with minimal cooking and maximum being waited on...ruby, kind of the same, just got fat again so looking to lose some..fingers crossed for you..TA just think of the weeds as providing insects with food
Scarlt, welcome back to you too, sorry about your infection, so annoying...do copious amounts of cranberry juice help? bella, welcome back also , I'd never heard of the market, or of swim up rooms so I've had me education broadened today, it sounds like an exciting time was had! camelot, believe it or not, some of my tomato plants have been eaten by snails, which is a bit of a first, usually, they leave them alone. I might have to have some off you
Take care all, continued good wishes ot those on holiday, and mia...

Afternoon all, quite nice here. I was out 1st thing for my hair appointment to do some highlights. Quite pleased with how it's turned out, and the young woman who did them was lovely. We seem to have had a mad busy weekend, all the football Saturday and yesterday DH & DS1 cleaned the gutters and sloping glass roof over the dining table in the kitchen. There were absolutely loads of spinning jennys growing in 1 gutter & some in the others too. Our power washer came out too so everywhere looks fresher.Ruby hope you do well - I do low carb/keto, it's worked for me but taken over 12 months. It's turned into a way of life now, tastebuds have changed I suppose.Bella glad you enjoyed your trip, and Snoozer.Dp1 sorry you are still suffering the ill effects of covid, & Scarlet get well soon.Taff enjoy your catch up ,my oldest friend is coming tomorrow, and we'll pop out for lunch.TA hope you caught Sparkle, sounds like hard work getting her in the carrier.Cooking beef stroganoff tonight, pretty easy as it's from the butchers pack I got on Friday and has the spices already added.Hope you enjoy the film Iris.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
