I consolidated my mortgage after coming up with an agreement and payment plan. Interest rates were rising and I wanted to get a fixed rate at a good rate. This bank has been messing me about for years with things partly my fault and some theirs. They sent me through the letter to consolidate my mortgage with only 2 days to send it back to them, if I didn't the offer wouldn't be open anymore. I signed it and sent it back but... the maths did not add up. They have managed to add on £16000 extra on my mortgage, I used resolver to write a complain and ask them why this was added on and where from.
"A further letter was sent to yourself on the 30th of May 2022 detailing the terms and conditions of the capping plan. This was then signed and returned by yourself to confirm the acceptance of the outstanding balance of £XXXXXXX"
I mean a bank that can not add up isn't going to be many people first port of call! I have escalated it to the ombudsman but I have been here before with another issue and I got no where. I signed it because I didn't want to them to take months to sort this out whilst the interest rates kept rising. What can I do?
